Since our fantastic final day 7_0 win our record at home in the league has been P25 W6 D8 L11. The negative possession play from the back football is costing us dearly at home . Cmon Joey, you've now got some great attacking players in Thomas, Sincs, Brown Collins,Ward, Vale, Bogarde , Marquis. Let's see it

Needs to improve quickly or we are going to really struggle. No better chance than Saturday. Lincoln have an away cup tie in Sheffield on Wednesday. UTG

I look at the league table and last season we comfortably stayed in the league that we got promoted into. This season we need to be higher, and the movement over the summer has us all optimistic of top six. If you want to look at stats there are only one set that matters at the moment: W1 D2 L2. Which I’m not happy with, but I’m OK with. I hope (EXPECT) to see improvement in the coming weeks and months. I like the suggestion Joey made in the L2 season to think in ten game blocks, as it’s a fair yardstick as to where you are. Let’s see how we look in 5 games time. But frankly I don’t see any benefit in looking at our stats from last season. Last season was job done for what we were at the time.

Quite a few of those wins would have been in the next 10 or 15 games after the 7-0. The stats would look even worse this calendar year.
Someone was saying on Saturday we have only won 2 or 3 of the last ten at home. Surely that can't be right? Extremely worringly if it is the case as that is relegation battle form.

That is correct since January 2023 we have won only 2 home games Cheltenham 2-1 on News year day and Charlton on Good Friday 1-0

Confident things will improve with results at home but as it stands it’s simply not good enough.

When JB eventually departs his win record will be judged on every game not just 10 game blocks. Since Rossiter's injury and Thomas jumped ship our form has been poor. I'm not sure whether those two leaving also coincided with Collins and Belshaw losing form, or it caused them to lose form.
Somehow JB's got to get the team creating more chances and not conceding goals for set pieces and breakaway attacks. If he can't you do have to wonder if he's up to the job?

When JB departs he will be judged on where the club is in the league table, not his win record. For example if he gets us to the champ and we finish one place above the relegation zone, his win record will be fairly average but the achievement is enormous.

JAB home record in 2923 is woeful. 2 wins....but those wins were after the pitch had been watered to optimum.
We've had pitch blamed, weather blamed, ref blamed but the focus for me has always stayed squarely at him and how he manages game time.
No wonder the Mem atmos is flat in places, there's precious little for us to sing about when the fortress doesn't exist!

That is correct since January 2023 we have won only 2 home games Cheltenham 2-1 on News year day and Charlton on Good Friday 1-0 I was about to say most of those six wins came during the first half of last season. We dropped like a stone after new year and would have easily been relegated if it were not for us being half decent during the first half of the season.

I was actually saying at the first home game against Barnsley that the atmosphere was extremely flat, had a pre season game feel. I doubt it’s the home form that caused that as it was the first game of the season, which is usually rocking. I do think the south stand has somehow played a part in that. No stand there gave it a proper pre season vibe and just didn’t feel like the season was starting yet!

Being a bit pedantic but his win record will largely determine where we are in the table. 80% of fans only see home games, so that’s what they’ll judge him on. I don’t think the majority of fans would be content with an upper mid table finish this season if our home form remains dreadful and we get our wins away from home. It’s an entertainment business at the end of the day. Confident it will improve, it’s just frustrating in the meanwhile.
