This quote is embarrassing 🙈 Which bit was not true? Answers below. Only one statement possibly true. The rest an opinion. Calm and look forward my friend. How much longer do we give Barton with our shocking home performances? ( a question) Yea we won the other day but with the backing he’s had we should be top six. ( just an opinion) None of our players are kids they were all signed to be first team players originally. We can call it our reserves but most of those players do spend time in the starting 11. (Possibly true. Not recently, in fact some haven’t even made the squad.) Jevani brown not worth damaging our clubs reputation over. (Opinion) Collins wasted out wide. (Opinion) Trying to not over react but that was so embarrassing. (Opinion)

Mate of mine is a Chelsea fan and he was telling me they’re frustrated over the scattergun transfers that they’ve made in the last year without any real plan other than on match days it’s to keep the ball which they do really well but they’re mid table and rarely play football that actually excites their fans or scores goals. Nodding in agreement. If we'd managed to sign JCH I sense most of us would have thought JB had had a very good window, now it's a scattergun effect to the deals. Watching us play I’m not convinced signing JCH would have made much difference. Most of our football is played in our half and when we get to the oppositions third we mostly go backwards. JCH isn’t a player who’s mobile and runs in to spaces from what I remember and he’s a few years older now. The problem I think is how quickly we move the ball from defence , I wasn’t at the Lincoln game at home 1-1 but I looked at the stats we had 600 accurate passes but half of them were our keeper and two centre half’s. It’s sh** to watch and it’s not successful, we played that way under Garner and were awful and would have probably gone down had he not been sacked. With these better players we’ll probably stay up but quite simply our manager is holding them back tactically with his visions of how he wants league 1 players to play like world class players.

Unfortunately as Joey wont talk to the Post, no one seems to be able to find out - Where is Grant Ward? - What is happening with injuries? - Why let Connolly go when we only had 4 CB, now possibly only 1 fit - Why didnt he have a back up plan to JCH - who has left his backroom team and why?
Only likes softballs it seems.

Last few seasons we have had regular updates from Sam frost regarding state of the squad, build up to the matches etc. I used to enjoy reading the pre match press conferences they were informative and interesting. We literally hear nothing now. No one has a clue what's going on in the build up to a game.

Again we will have to play guessing games again but he didn't mention Wilson coming off due to injury last night only that he was only one of the better performers so hopefully he isn't out.

JB can't help injuries and we've had these unfortunate runs of injuries before. Not many were complaining about Connolly going and iirc some were actually getting on his back! JCH was clearly an unrealistic target which got real, and you don't have a back up plan incase a transfer runs into the last 30 seconds. We lost in the pizza trophy, try not to get carried away.

So Wilson could be out Saturday too. Joey left himself like last season with on one CB fit to play. Very very worrying. Completely his own fault. There was no reason to loan out Connolly in the first place. no doubt you voiced your opinion when he went out on loan?

Perspective Win or lose in this competition (😔) does not really matter. It's about momentum, about formation and tactics maturing to give fans some confidence for the season. So far, and we are nearing the end of first ten game spell and it's a bit all over the place on those metrics. Win Saturday against Wigan and perhaps we can look forward to the next 10 game block with a bit more confidence.

I don't really look too much to performances in this cup and I think you can tell it's not the same competitive edge as the league. I would rather a loss in this and no injuries than go hell for leather and it be detrimental to the league campaign. It's a group stage and if we beat Newport we are through.
Having said that it wasn't good last night. All round I thought it was sloppy with lots of wayward passes, unforced errors and just general lack of sharpness. Bellshaws distribution was awful.
I think treat it as it is in this competition. Ideally we would have won but its the league that matters

We looked sloppy, expected a few to try to make a claim for inclusion on Saturday, not bothered by the competition but does give confidence if we win those type of games.
Need to kick on with the league form.

1-1 Massively naive of Taylor getting on the back of the lad when he’s full sprint into the box
1-2 Shocker of a pass from Hoole, less than 5 yards away from his manager
1-3 Belshaw say no more🤦🏻

Dont care about the result much, not even that bothered if it wasnt the greatest performance. The worries are 1) we dont have good cover in centre back or up front, really highlighted last night 2) joey continues to play players out of position in some weird hope thet last 8 times they played there they showed they couldnt do a job. Hope we have Wilson and Taylor at the back and JM up front on Saturday. If he goes with Hoole again expect a heavy loss and people on here calling for him to be shipped out

That 3rd goal looked even worse than I remember. High ball upfield and their guy is through on goal.
Hoole and Gibbons were awful all game. Maybe training with Wales is starting to rub off on Luca? Gibbons has done nothing at Rovers bar a cross for Marquis (v Burton) last season

West Ham, will probably give us a go! only lost once this season, Beat Colchester and Beat celtic 23's 5-0 a few days ago. They also won the Youth cup last season so they are pretty decent! Fingers crossed we get t done but it wont be as easy as we think! Couple of early reducers to set the tone & get the chaps quaking. Step forward Sir Samuel of Finley Always Thought it would be Tough! Problem is you look around our Team and there is no Flare or Desire. When you have Youthful players among your squad running everything down and fighting for every ball it changes the dynamic of the whole Teams performance unfortunately we don't have that and Barton too scared to try it! Good Managers bring on and develop their up and coming players ours unfortunately in Mr Barton is naïve and thinking a bunch of old 'experienced' players are enough to make him look good when really it is having the opposite effect, and is really quick to dig them out if they don't perform!

When are people going to get in in their heads that our young players are not good enough to play in even a Mickey Mouse cup match. We could easily have been out of sight last night by half time and should have been. West Ham only scored due to individual mistakes. Whenever Gordan plays we end up with his winger running clean through at least once. Hoole our most successful young player is disaster after disaster when he plays and Belshaw just proved last night why he is not first choice and Cox is. I have no worries that this team will become a team we will be proud of and the Manager also. Any young player that is any good will end up at City-fact. Loans and free transfers and some old experienced heads is the way forward.

A long overdue Home win Sat is so vital. The momentum from last week's away win will be carried on and bury last night's somewhat tepid display which underlined our deficiencies.Quite a lesson really in speed and fitness.Wigan did well last night so won't be easy but wonder how Exeter are feeling after conceding nine!!!!!
