I’ll hold my court, still not happy with the signing, we should have got the JCH deal over the line not sign some out of contract TED who lives locally. If he scores ten before Christmas I’ll withdraw my comment and publicly apologise. should have but we didn't, you need to get over it

The way I see it is this is a free hit. If he shows any of the form he showed in the championship then we've picked up a bargain and got a JCH for no where near the money. If not then we've just lost 3 months of his wages. Let's hope he does well. Welcome to the gas Chrissy M.

Plus, if he doesn’t make an impact on the pitch then there’s still the potential value of having someone with his experience having a positive influence on the training ground and in the dressing room.

Welcome to the gas. Give a 100%, do your best and everyone (?) will make you as welcome as any other player. And 4/5 goals before January will help. 👍
UTG!

Get that ball in the mixer & it’s goals, he’ll also bring the much needed physical presence as an alternative to Big John.
We now have a fine mix of the lot, Sincs/Collins/Thomas/Brown/Marquis & Martin.
As well as their differing physical attributes, every single one of em have real quality. Hell an addition IMO.

He’s ultimately replacing Loft. No offence to Lofty but it’s a big upgrade!

I don’t know much about what Martin is like as a player but from what I’ve read he’s a big striker who can hold up the ball and bully defences.
Our biggest issue is stubborn teams frustrating us and just not having the battering ram to cause issues in the middle. JM is a good player and he’s playing better now, but 30 mins to go, 70% possession, these should be the situations a proven goal scorer who’s big will be very useful. Suddenly they will need to mark him opening up the game for others.
JM and CM in the middle, you actually have 2 players who can get on the end of things.
I may be wrong and he’s a different player but it seems the case. Absolutely needed and regardless of goals, we need extra weight in the forward line.
One of our best teams was walker and lambert ups front. Neither had pace but they were a very successful partnership. We had pace in other areas.

Good old Lewis, just the one trick, pace, and then generally shoot over the bar or kick it out for a GK. bless him, I always thought of forest gump! Disley had a wee bit of pace too. And also, great in the air for a wee man.

Some genius make a nice Coldplay related chant for him. I would imagine he’s sick to death of every club he signs for trying to make a Coldplay chant for him. 😂

Simply a great signing, 70% fit and going to get better.
Hold up and link up play, defending our box and a captain on the pitch as well encouraging and talking.
Well done Eddie Jennings and Barton 👏🏻
