Simply a great signing, 70% fit and going to get better. Hold up and link up play, defending our box and a captain on the pitch as well encouraging and talking. Well done Eddie Jennings and Barton 👏🏻 Once fully fit this could be the perfect fit. He may not score loads of goals but his movement creates space for others and his hold up and link up play 1st half was superb.

Contender for man of the match. Led the line excellently, arguably better than JM.
Well done CM

Another ex ted who is yet again a massive upgrade on what we have. Who said stop signing ex Ted's???
Exactly what we've been missing. Fantastic hold up play and a right horrible bast*ard to play against.

Very strong and good target man, looking an astute signing.

Great big lump who hardly moves but excellent first touch and strong as an ox , not the answer but will be mightily effective in certain games

He was quite simply superb tonight and if that's what an overweight, unfit shithead looks like, any more going?

You can see why we signed Martin and why we tried for JCH. The hold up play is what Marquis can’t do to that level. His first touch, flick ons, the ability to buy a foul and his footballing brain is light years ahead of what we had previously.
That play allowed Collins and Brown to get into the channels earlier and quicker and we put more crosses into the box last night than we had all season and you can really see what the tactics are with great hold up play.
Also, I know I get pelters for this, but Finley’s absence always allows the midfield more freedom and to operate quicker as a team.
Woods was brilliant at HDCM last night, Bogarde was absolutely fantastic winning every ball and LMc continually bursting forward. We just don’t get that same tick with Finley in there, but because he’s captain, when he’s fit, he plays, but it really is at the detriment of the team.
Collins really needs to find his shooting boots though.

Both Bogarde and Woods have the ability to change direction of a move with their awareness and it was noticeable last night how quicker the balls go to the attacking players

Agree Betty, Woods and Bogarde make us much more fluid, they don’t need that extra touch and also have the ability to turn on the ball quickly and look up.

My uncle said to me last night that the first 5 yards of football is in the brain, and he’s right when you look at Woods, Martin and Hunt who have all played regular championship football. All past their prime but can easily compete in intelligence, strength and fitness.

Finley slows us down, Rossiter is the same as woods more progressive and puts us on the front foot, having said that Finley was excellent against Wigan. There is a great opportunity this season to make the championship, hope we keep the kassam form going!

From the kick off he charged forward into the Vale half went for one of the Vale centre backs and barged him. Completely off the ball.
Talk about the old adage of "letting know you're there". Allegedly said to the centre back something along the lines of "I'll fix you"...

Great performance last night, led the line, held the ball up played in others, bossed their centre backs, took the play up the field, not had any body like him up top since rambo, really good signing.

JCH played in the Championship in 21/22 and scored 12 goals. That same season Chris Martin played in the same league and scored........ 12 goals

He's played about 100 minutes for us. Might be worth giving him 3 or 4 matches before summarising his abilities in the quarters🤷♂️ Equally, if he'd had a mare last night it wouldn't necessarily mean he was sh**.
