Whether we move or stay, the next 'easiest' would be the North end. Either completely replacing the terracing or built behind. Should increase capacity by 2-4,000. Plenty for what we need at the moment.
The East Stand would only really be replaced if we are staying.

Or extend the excisting east stand at both ends and make it all seater ? Seems a huge expense to add 2300 seats.

Big believer in digging down.
If we drop the pitch by 10 -15 metres, we could build something amazing that the locals couldn't complain about.
I've been to other stadiums where the pitch is lower than ground level.

The East side offers the most potential.

Might be due to the water table and/or type of ground under the Mem?

Or brew beer with it? Missed opportunity.

A Ted and Gashead are walking along the beach at Weston Super Mare when the Gashead kicks a tin pot in the sand. Picking it up he starts to clean it and with a flash and a roll of thunder out pops a genie. "Oh thank you, master, for I have been trapped for ten thousand years, what is your command" The jealous Ted says, "hang on a minute, we are together surely we both get a wish" "As my Gashead master commands," says the genie OK says the Gashead, give the lad a wish. Right then says Ted, I want a high wall around Ashton and Ashton Gate to keep all those Gasheads out. It must be twice as high as the tallest men, and strong, no weaknesses at all "Your wish is my command says Genie, "now Gashead master, what is your wish?" "Let's get this clear, "says the Gashead, A high wall, right around Ashton and Ashton Gate, with no weaknesses, no windows, no doors, no gates, solid ?" "That's right, " says the Ted, "what about your wish?" "Easy," says The Gashead, "fill it with water"
Moral of the Story all good things come to those who wait !!!

Ok I get you - dig out a crater approx 50 foot deep to accommodate a football pitch and surrounding stands (or are the stands going to sit on top of the crater) and presumably escalators to get down there - interesting - well thought out!! Let Tom know he’d be delighted to hear from you.

Bristol Sport has the Basketball team, we have a Water Polo team.

The drone video highlights the large parts of the ground around the East Stand which could be used, I'm pretty sure it would be simple to erect a couple of semi permanent stands to sit alongside the existing East Stand, as a short term fix.

Redevelopment of East side has the most potential to be commercially viable. It is the furthest from housing, has the most space available and is next to parking. I would look to build a single tier stand of over 11k capacity (for bragging rights over 82 to give us the biggest stand in Bristol...). Design it so the top of the stand has executive boxes that convert to hotel rooms as they would then have fantastic views over Bristol. Have a gym and crèche in that stand for the public and guests to use. There speaks a person of' vision', no doubt reasons will be touted as to why you can't do it, but as someone said 'YES WE CAN'! Does the term “vision” double up as “please build proven economically unviable projects so I can have the ground in my preferred convenient location”?

Plenty of new (and even some existing stadiums) have a sunken pitch - from the outside you enter a concourse at the top/back of the first tier and walk down 10-15 rows to your front-row seat...
