I think what JB was trying to say was that female commentators haven't have the same experience in football than their ex player male counterparts. Mainly due to the Women's game only turning professional in 2018. So the experiences of the commentators is going to be less than their male counterparts. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with female commentators (anyone is better than Jonathan *shithead* Pearce). I think that is what JB was trying to say very badly. For the record: 1) I am a JB hater. 2) Emma Hayes should be managing a male team Maybe I have a bit of a crush on Emma Hayes, it was her commentary in the Women's world cup that taught me about the pivot and double pivot. I had been watching Rovers try and do that and didn't realise what they were supposed to be doing until Emma explained it. |

He acknowledges that the women are really good but specifically states an example where commentary doesn't "cross over" so well. Somebody should give Kelly a hug and reassure her that somebody's view doesn't demand a modern day twitter rant and foot stomping event. It's not worth it and wont help her. Only just read what Keegan wrote and Barton’s tweet. Complete storm in a teacup if you ask me . I’m a full on woke Meister but people are allowed to have an opinion. I quite like Keith Brookman on radio Bristol but lots of fans on here think he’s awful. Its just opinions.

When I saw roadmans post, I clicked on the link and all I could see was the Joey comment agreeing with Keegan, for what it’s worth I agree with that comment. I think for on all of this it shows the state of the leadership of the club.
Ultimately we are a business and brand with customers and Kelly is one just as we have Jewish supporters who will have links to Israel and Barton promotes support for Palestine. We will have fans who are supporters of the monarchy, Christians who will be offended on his view of churches, his hatred towards the Tories but he doesn’t mind tax avoidance which the Labour Party detest.
The Kuwaiti’s know all about PR and brand awareness, they are working with the NBA and this great organisation wouldn’t want to be associated with a free speaking idiot like we have. His support for Tucker Carlson and Andrew Tate, the NBA wouldn’t want their brand associated with this especially as they are training U16’s.
We live in a world of free speech but employers also have the right to inform individuals of their deemed behaviour to protect their brand. I think the Leadership of Bristol Rovers should have stamped this out long ago, and it’s why a Premiership club with parachute payments wouldn’t touch him, Bristol Sport with a family ethos would not touch him.
I work in business, many do on here, I don’t want my business to offend one customer in anyway based on our opinion. Kelly is that one customer but I know the HGT girls haven’t been this season, one has been given vile abuse and trolled for questioning Barton. Again it’s a sign of splitting the fan base.
It’s simply isn’t, just do your job and manage your football team. 91 others just seem to do this, they might question the game and VAR etc but they don’t get involved with outside stuff.
Some say the likes of me are obsessed, it’s Luke Thomas last week, now Kelly Thursday night, he brings the attention to our club and fans, imagine if he just did what Nigel Pearson or Darrell Clarke did, it’s not like we are even brilliant?

For instance I’d rather listen to Chris Hargreaves punditry on conference football , than I would Gary Lineker. But I’d prefer Lineker on prem / international football to hearing what Chris Hargreaves had to say on it.

He can think what he wants but he's got a tendency to try and act out, like a child, on social media, because he can't handle not being the centre of attention.
I prefer my managers managing the club, but some of you love having a famous bloke in charge and overrate him because he 'winds up the haters'. What probably raises his stock with some of the wannabe hard cases in Stone Island on the Thatchers and the sad old ex hard cases who look back fondly to beating people up at games in the 80s is that he occasionally says something like this which subscribes to their idiotic views.
Keegan hasn't played professionally since 1985 - football was completely different then. So maybe he shouldn't be allowed to be a pundit? Oh wait he isn't one cos he was a tactical dinosaur when he managed.
There are tons of coaches out there who don't bully their players, don't need to be the centre of attention, don't need to be given free reign of the whole club and hire all their mates, don't sign woman beating scum, indeed aren't woman beating scum themselves, who can also beat giants like Port Vale and Cambridge at home on the biggest budget the club's ever had.

Got to say I am sided with KK on this. Jill Scott, Eni Eluko, Fara Williams, Leanne Sanderson and Karen Carney are absolutely awful. A lot are there for box ticking from the BBC and Sky, who are hell bent on doing the named topics.
On the other side of the coin, Clinton Morrison and Jamie Mackie are even worse - awful. Like listening to an episode of Top Boy, and scat man john, respectively. Neither can barely string a sentence together.
As for Souness' comments on its a man's game - don't get me started. He was talking about a mens football match.

So do people really believe that NO women pundits/comms are any good?
My issue with the type of comment Keegan has made is that it just writes off a whole gender because they’ve never played men’s football. There’s no balance and mention of people like Sam Matterface who never played the game and is terrible.
