Sorry Hugo we had Gasheads on here praising the Gaffer for doing it for Nick Anderton and people ruining it for him and Joey has publicly said he couldn’t be arsed with it due to setting up a bank account. I just pointed out, poor Nick could do with anything that comes his way. So he set up his subscription service, then later said it was for NA and then said he couldn't be bothered to collect the money after all? Have I followed this right? Yes this is it, all because he can’t be arsed to do a simple bank account, a charity which was Nick is missing out, he mentioned Nick after this x.com/joey7barton/status/1679773427740155904?s=46&t=bhN6HOKs1kzYSj3KfeKg9Q |

Given JB's history he probably got rejected by Stripe given the way banks now seem to operate!

Apparently you have to set up a ltd company before you can open an account with them. That would put me off straight away if I was doing it just to raise a few bob for charity. |

So many ways to take a subscription Dave and again, if it’s for Nick, an accountant can set up a company in 5 minutes, I did it recently! If you read his first post, someone says are you short of money Joey and he tweets back a picture of his Rolex. My accountant set up a LTD for £250, didn’t take long, all for Nick? Only Fans, Farage, so many celebs and famous people have subscription accounts now, it’s not hard. |

We've no idea of his circumstances wrt opening a bank account. So I'll assume he's given the donations so far to NA and no doubt helped him out besides. We know that he has donated a fixed cash sum and was involved in the head shave. This X thing was small money which I'd think he has spoken to NA about prior to informing the world. |

I’m with you on this Simon. Why on earth would you go to the trouble of setting up a company to get an account with this bank and then pay them a percentage of any money you raised for charity just for the privilege. Sounds to me JB could not be bothered to do it for obvious reasons. As you point out he has been heavily involved in the fundraising for NA and possibly could see no advantage in raising money that way, when it’s easier to drop money in a bucket etc etc. |

I think most of us believe Joe will give Nick a sizeable donation knowing this ‘X’ avenue is more trouble than it’s worth. Of course if he highlights it he will be accused of making a ‘song and dance’ about it. Whatever you think of our manager and we are all entitled to different opinions, people like Joe really can’t win. The world is so polarised sadly. |
