I think the bottom line for me is JB spouting all this over the top stuff in public. Why? For effects? To humiliate LT or whoever else in the future? If he rants at him in the dressing room in front of his team mates that should be good enough. How many top class managers ( and JB isn't one yet btw ) constantly throw their players under the bus , and I stand to be corrected.

Always going to be a tough task to get anything today BUT if we are serious about challenging at the top end then we have to be able to pick up points from these games. So we are not quite there yet and work to be done , lessons to learn by players and manager. As for the other stuff, football is an emotional game, as we all know, and if someone sticks a microphone in your face not long after a defeat you are likely to say things which on reflection you wish you hadn't and would be best left to the privacy of the dressing room/ training ground. Your detractors will be listening to these interviews knowing you are likely to give them ammunition to shoot you with, JB is very obliging in this respect and needs to learn from the likes of Klopp who kept the lid on his emotions following the shocking VAR fiasco V Spurs yesterday. JB would be beat advised to send someone else out to do the interviews most of which involve stock answers to stock questions and are seldom very enlightening, but hey ho, gives everyone the chance to sound off on here i suppose!

Have been a fan of JB most of his tenure but this outburst is nothing but bullying for yet another inept display due to his selections and tactics. LT has, imo been our most consistent and best player this season . If JB was my boss in a normal environment, I would be straight to HR to get at least a formal apology and a warning. Disgraceful how he has picked on LT again when it looks like there was cause to blame other players for defeat. Also, what has Sincs done wrong Picking up 9 mins on last 3 games . JB seems to be the idiotic boy ( can't call him a man with this behaviour)

Barton makes a bunch of controversial statements and now we're talking about those instead of a performance where we were comfortably beaten. Purposely target one of the players who would be in the discussion for player of the season so the fans immediately come to the players defence. Some would call that smart management. You really thought that based on performance we were well beaten? I watched a very even contest - the difference was we missed a sitter, had one cleared off the line and hit the woodwork. P’Boro no way outplayed us and got a very fortunate opening goal which changed the game. We never made P'Boro get out of first gear. You mention that we created plenty but we didn't take them and most of our best chances came once we were already two down. It was a lucky goal but the second wasn't. A team wins 2-0 where they're comfortable for the majority of the game then that's a comfortable win.

I think you have misunderstood. I was responding to the question posed, not suggesting in any way thatvyou had Stockholm syndrome. I was referring to the players coming back and praising JB. Is that was Stockholm syndrome does? Are you implying that Joey Barton and/or BRFC have the players as hostages, or do you not understand Stockholm Syndrome and your attempt at being clever fell flat on its smarmy arse? Yes, now you get it. I was exactly implying that when players were on loan, they were kidnapped. They then returned due to Stockholm syndrome. I'm not sure my attempt at being clever fell on its smarmy arse, someone else had to explain it to you also. Your post suggests that you took offence where there was none (Isn't that what 'snowflakes' do?), now you come back with personal insults. Nice work.

I saw a game between two evenly matched teams and they had things go their way in both boxes - on another day the result could very easily have been reversed.

I agree with this. I’m uneasy about the way he’s called out Thomas (who has had a great start to the season, by the way), twice now, Belshaw and Clarke. At the very least it’s a big risk to do that to a player who has just signed a three year contract. I’m not saying he’s wrong. The proof will be in the pudding, but Luke Thomas has had well publicised issues with depression and it doesn’t sit right with me. Whilst he’s made a mistake yesterday in not flagging up the hamstring injury earlier, I can imagine he was desperate to continue and do his best for the team. It’s a mistake many people would make. I think the reaction from Barton was disproportionate. I feel for Luke and I hope he comes back strong from his injury.

A similar display and result that went for lots of games last season, maybe this is what pushed JB over the edge? Missed some experience in the centre of defence yesterday, need to be more ruthless in the way we play from front to back. Another goal conceeded from distance, midfield given them space to shoot, we don't shoot enough or with conviction. Ultimately points thrown away.

The stats suggest game was even apart from goals, and shots on target. That's our issue lack of shots on target, we had more shots than they did.

JB pulled out players last January and slagged them off in Public, then it was one of our best performing players at the time. We then went into a a slump and only won one or two more games that season. Football teams are tight units and when you smack one in the guts/ call one out, they all feel it, hopfully the players will pull themselves together for Tuesday night. JB needs to be carefull because the new owners didn't employ him, with the squad we have we should be higher up the league, if the owners don't take to Barton and his behaviour they may get rid.

Maybe it had to be explained because it was written incoherently. I never use the term "snowflake", which seems to be thrown about by the right wing with abandon. Still, if it makes you happy. Thank you for your acknowledgement of my nice work. It means such a lot. Enjoy your day x 💙

Massive overreaction from Barton post match.
LT obviously thought he could carry on. It would have been pointless coming out for the second half if not. He made a mistake as his injury was worse than he thought and that decision might have partly contributed to their second goal.
However, LT has been one of our best players this season and certainly did not deserve that public outburst where he was called an idiot or idiotic on multiple occasions. Barton went on to say we have to get feeble minded individuals like him out the building if we're going to get promoted.
Every week players pick up knocks and try to run them off before being subbed, I'm sure JB did it himself during his career. I like Hunt, but the biggest mistake was his, diving in instead of holding up the winger and allowing others to get back.
Honestly, I don't know what to say. I certainly wouldn't want to play for a manager who publically slated me like that for a fairly minor error of judgement. It's not the first time either, and this of course is from a manager who's never made a mistake as a player or coach.
Based on the football, the squad he's put together and our start to the season, I don't think Barton should be under pressure. However, this latest outburst will not go down well with many fans so he really needs some positive results now or he could find the crowd turns against him.

There is no way anyone on this planet can argue JBs outburst was justifiable and/or fitting for the apparent crime, surely?
How anyone can even begin to defend him here is unreal. To talk about going to the CEO to fine him... really?
He needs to come out and publically apologise. It is bullying, simple as that - LT once AGAIN thrown under the bus.
Barton puts on a mask to pretend he's just a normal guy, but every other month or so it slips to reveal the narcissistic, bullying thug that lives beneath.
And he's already getting the excuses in for missing out on promotion I see, despite having arguably the best and certainly most expensive squad assembled in our history.

This whole business reminds me a tad of when Ray Graydon had a post match rant I think he was talking about Paul Taut. It must have been about either his performance or a missed chance. Graydoom said to the interviewer that, if he could, he would take his house off of him. Another over the top incident. Some managers have a habit of saying things at inappropriate times.

With the many missed scoring opportunities Arron Collins valuation will sharply decrease! A quality striker would be scoring with so many attempts at goal.
