Can't help but feel there has been a bit of an overreaction after yesterday's game.
We have lost our last 2 games against 2 of the top 3 form sides in the division. Both games we were competitive until going down to 10 men effectively cost us getting anything from them. We have a game in hand over the 4 teams above us, win that and we are sitting in 13th.
We have 2 winnable games at home coming up against 2 promoted sides, Stevenage and Northampton.
I'm gonna predict we will be sitting here a lot happier next Sunday night. And a few naysayers will be put back in their box.
Goodnight and God bless.

Exactly, I know it’s a completely different level, but do you think West Ham fans are in melt down because they lost 4-1 at Villa.

They also won a trophy last season.

Theirs only one man who raised expectations, and sadly at the moment he's not really delivering. Our fanbase must be one of the most laid back of any,for the size of the club. Not that long ago west ham were kicking off against their club. About time we got abit more vocal,we really should be doing better.

It’s not an overreaction for, this has been happening since January?!
And to be fair Gavin (GGMI) you’ve said you don’t go to games anymore, I’m a season ticket holder, I’ve done 4 away games this season, I’m sick of the false promises and seeing managers like Bonner, Ferguson, Manning, Maamria tactically outsmart him.
I predict we will get 3 or 4 points from the next two home games, then it’s back on the road and it’s continual inconsistency.
And mid table finish isn’t good enough for me, he’s built my own expectations, I believe him, we are going for promotion, the owners have backed him, I expect a proper challenge for 6th place.
I think Gav if you were going to games, time and money invested, you’d be a lot more frustrated.

It's an over-reaction... but time is slipping by and this season represents a serious chance.
We have to stop compliancy.

Stevenage and Burton challenging for the play offs, you are spot on, this season is our serious chance. Right now QPR, Rotherham, Shef Wednesday coming down, likes for Wrexham, Notts County and Swindon all know challenging to come up, next season is going to be really tough again in Div1

Form in the last 15 months has been utter dog ****, so not really an overreaction. The overreaction was after beating Port Vale and suddenly Barton was ‘prime Pep’ just for winning one game!

And what a great game it was apart from the usual feigning of head injuries to stop the game when your opponents are breaking through.

I really believe we've got some good players. Next season we'll lose alot of this crop and you never know how the next rebuild will go. We seem to go through too many periods of relaxation, particularly in attack. Get in the Dam box lads and take some responsibility. It's madness.

Such is the nature of the beast GGMI, triumph and disaster, if you can keep your head when all about you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and so on! it is frustrating though but I still believe everything will fall into place soon and we will go on an amazing run !

Most players won’t be here next season so it will be yet another season wasted whilst we rebuild. This is the managers fault, he’s been here a while we shouldn’t be needing to do another squad rebuild at this point!

They are coming off the back of winning a European competition, whilst we scraped 17th in L1.

Wanting to surround himself with loan players from higher up the pyramid? But then has no ability to extract benefit on the pitch?

It's only an overreaction if you look at it as a small window of time (in GGMIs example, 2 games!). But even then, if you look at just this season it only tells part of the story. Yes you can make reasonable excuses (new season, new team etc.), but the FACTS are that this dire run of form has been going on for almost an entire year.
At the end of the day, the camp you sit in will largely be determined by where you draw that line in the sand; if you draw it from the start of the season or - maybe the last couple of games - you're likely prepared to give him time. If you see it as starting further back, then you've likely already seen enough, or are close to having seen enough.
Either is fine - opinions are what it's all about. But we certainly cannot state "it's an overreaction" as some kind of factual statement when, quite clearly, it's not that simple.
I think with JB (perhaps more so than any manager I can remember) there is an element of the fanbase (not all, but some) that will forgive him no matter what. I.e., no matter how bad the form got, how long it lasted or even what he did off the field, all would be forgiven. As such, I don't think we'll ever find common ground. He's a very polarising figure and, as I say, there is an element of hardcore support for the man that simply will not waver regardless.

In all this I have not spoken to any fan who does not want us to win every game, contrary to some of the ridiculous statements from some on here. For me, my view, this all started with the very public dressing down of Belshaw and the undermining of his position as first choice. But nearly a year later here we are. Another public dressing down (Thomas), still 17th. Another heavy defeat.

Well said RD, spot on, do you used to be Rover Drive in the old days, always admired your posts even if we don’t always agree?!
Liam Manning has had since March to save Oxford from relegation, sign two good strikers on free transfers and delivery a second spot so far 4/5 points above third place.
As for us, we are in the too often word used in football “gelling” period.
