Gosh, still living rent free in some people’s heads, even now he’s gone. That’s actually quite incredible, and telling.

Yep, thank you for being so sh**e at your job Joey that we no longer have to deal with the absolute w**ker you are representing us. The OP was to thank Joe Barton for his efforts while with Rovers, every one on here knows your extreme hateful opinion of JB so why choose this thread to spill out more of your unpleasant ramblings? You condemn JB for the person he is but it seems to me that in a personality contest between you and him ,you would come a very distant second ! Thanks for your efforts JB and good luck in the future. How can you possibly know that. Goodness me the anger and language over his sacking is unbelievable.

When he took over we were not in relegation zone yet finished bottom. If Scunthorpe never played there youth team would still be league two. We are in the same position as when he, the messiah, took over. Bye Bye to the arrogant prat.

So sh** he gave us one of the top 5 moments in Bristol rovers history with the promotion on the last day. A day all true gasheads that didn't desert the club just because of who was in charge will always remember. The original poster was saying thankyou, and you being the awful person that you are just couldn't allow it to pass without your hatred.

Taylor, Rossiter, McCormick of the top of my head fees paid for in League 1? This season Wilson, Woods, Hunt, Martin and Friend wouldn't have come cheap (wage wise - even if for 6 months to a year) The loan players usually have some percentage of wage contribution. The players from L2 who have since had wage increases. Just because we have loans or players out of contract next summer doesn't mean they don't contribute to the budget. Compare that to the squad 23 years ago. Foster Thomson tilson cureton Roberts astafjevs ellington hillier meaker frankie Bennett Mark Walters . That squad would of costs over £2 million and goodness knows the wages for hillier from Arsenal or Mark Walters . I was talking to some ex players and the fees / wages were one of the best in division one. About the profit the club made on Barry Hayles then. We made any profit on Barton's signings?

Just disagreed with appointment of Barton. That's allowed isn't it? Or are we all supposed to be led, sheep like, to the alter of hero worship. Let's hope Andy Mangan can pick a team tomorrow, set it up to win and then win. Hopefully we will and subsequently we might have a reasonable post match interview which doesn't include stupid comments about other managers or a critique about our own players that involves slagging them off in public. Just for a change. Imagine the relief, like getting rid of a migraine

Who's angry ? certainly not me, Surprised? a little at the timing, Disappointed ? certainly, I repeat 'The thread was for fans to thank JB for his efforts while with us' , if you don't want to thank him then move on and find a suitable thread to air your views.

We redistributed and spent big money on Mickey Evans Scott Jones and Stephanie Leonni and many many more . The point I'm making is this budget is no bigger than the team 23 years ago . Some people are a bit inflammatory on the so called budget size making out we are spending massive sums. The entire team consisting of 4 years costs less than a million. We are not a top 8 team when it comes to budgets . Therefore Barton did a OK job . Nothing exceptional granted.

The club made much, much more from the sale of Barry Hayles, Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington though. Who in the current squad would generate a fee/profit? Even Collins and Taylor are underperforming this year

But many were 👍🏾 Good for them. Didn’t want him then, don’t want him now and delighted he’s gone. Not asking you to agree so don’t know why you care so much, just pointing out I’ve been consistent.

I was shocked when I heard that Joey was sacked, I have been a regular supporter since 1963 . I think his team, that he recruited is the best in depth and quality in that time. The team spirit and fighting spirit has been first class. We have new owner but you must know your history before you can plan the future. I am not confident the replacement will measure up well and we will put the club back years.. He embodied what it meant to be a blue in a city where there's red vs blue and instilled it in the players(perhaps no all).
