I 100% agre with that. It is a shed. A good temporary solution whilst thatchers end is rebuilt. East Stand > North Stand > West Stand by the time they get back to the South Stand then that'll probably be another decade gone. As the club has always said in the past that redeveloping the Mem is not viable, how has it suddenly become viable for the new owners? Guessing because the FM is dead and they’ve seen the price of land in Bristol. I’d like to see a gradual redevelopment, I think us long suffering fans just want to see something to be proud of, and love it or not, the Mem has become our home and with the right thought going into it, we could create a fantastic atmosphere rather than a soul-less bowl you see so often with modern builds. What's the capacity of the West Side, 2,500 ish? Add to that the South Stand that is c.6,000?
That would leave 10,000-14,000 split across the East and North.
I'd like to see a main East stand with all the necessary facilities and around 6,000+ seats with another 4-5,000 stand on the North.
The plans don't have to be the final design, no reason we can't revisit the West and even South stands in time should funds and circumstances allow.

Pleased that our future will be at the Memorial. The tenanted situation at Eastville was an appalling situation which nearly cost us our existence that should never be re-visited.

Should have started rebuilding the mem bit by bit 20+ years ago. Club failed . Instead went with pie in the sky pkans that always fell flat and let fans down big time. The club should rebuild the mem but should also be looking to find a new stadium site they can move to in the future. The Mem is good for a yoyo championship league one/two side. Not for a team looking to be a top end championship club.

I’m struggling to think about what is tin pot about have 3 new stands at the Mem? I wonder how much it’s going to cost and how will it be structured against the club? I guess that depends on whether the owners build 3 decent stands or we finish up with 3 stands which look similar to the South Stand? You do have to wonder who signed off the plans for the South Stand before a final decision had been made regarding the FM.

Currently 3 blocks in the east stand , looks like we could add two either side and maybe take it down to pitch side . Would prefer they just demolished it and started again but it doesn’t sound like that will be the case.

Yet another stadium failure. I don't really support the rebuild of the Mem as it will never provide the capacity or income streams on non-matchdays as a purpose built new stadium. However, as there is nothing else on the table, there appears to be little choice. We will, however, be restricting ourselves to top league one to bottom of the championship I fear, though that is better than we have had for 30 years!

I lived in Cotham/Bishopston back from 90 to about 98.....most of the locals 45-50% of them were not even Bristolian' walking around in Tweed waist coats' trimmed beards with Green or Burgundy corduroy trousers. Utter W ⚓️'s 50% of people living in Bishopston during the 90s wore tweed waistcoats? I grew up in Bishopston, my mum still lives in the same house (since 1966). She's 90. In the 60s and 70s it was quite West Indian and Irish. Bishop Road Sec Mod where both of my sisters went was about 25% West Indian. Now very middle class. Next door neighbours are a nice French couple! I doubt there's a Gasheads in the street.

I for one don’t like this idea no parking no trains and as far as I can see very short sighted there must be land in North Bristol.

Would it make a difference to capacity if the pitch is turned?

We owned Eastville at one point how did that work out? Well Hitler had an impact on that and our Directors did a foolish thing by selling the ground to the Greyhound Company leaving us as their tenants. The land at Eastville was vast and highly desirable in the late 1980's and beyond. BRFC would have been in a fantastic position had they not sold out.

What’s changed since TG said last year that redeveloping the mem would never ever happen and is totally unviable ?

What’s changed since TG said last year that redeveloping the mem would never ever happen and is totally unviable ? No other viable options. It sounds like most of the stands are going to be temporary. So we can spend another 40 years looking for a site.

I'm glad we're staying to be honest although I'm a bit worried about planning permission if the south stand is anything to go by 😂
