Marks from the Chapel Allerton faithful
Cox 8 - some very decent saves and when under pressure from crosses was excellent
Hunt 7 - Welcome back Sir - Great return Crama 5 - Just not at it but took a Red for the team Wilson 6 - Strong Captain like performance Friend 6 - Championship touches and know how
Woods 4- Not the same player we saw when he first joined Evans 9 - Superb going forward and defending . Bogarde -8 Busy Busy breaking up play - the odd missed pass but covers the ground brilliantly
Collins 5- Diver and added little Martin 5- Physical presence up front and defence splitting pass to set up goal Vale 6- Faded after a good first half
Subs .. No one came on and stood out Gibbons very physical, Brown took us forward in those last few minutes. Marquis doesn’t understand the offside rule but he is our pain in the arse.,
Mangan 6 - Wins a Win but not sure he has the real tactical knowledge to take us forward. Seriously nice bloke though.
Ref team - Little fussy but decent to be fair
Gas fans - 10 Well done all - Loud and Proud! Travel home safe.

We won New manager is, could, come in and take this team into the playoffs. The Stats today do not back this up, but we won. We usually lose but the stats say we should have won.
Can we get beyond Barton now...

Nice.

Look at that table I genuinely believe we can be right in the mix for promotion if we get the right manager in. Credit to Mangs, his points return in in his time in charge has been brilliant. But the football has hardly changed and I think we need a fresh start to take us in a new direction. UTG Exactly why we need to get the right man in asap and not go with “give Mangan a go until the end of the season” as there is still way too much to play for this season.

So no Crama or Connor Taylor for the next three games… Why? Crama will get three for the Red I’m guessing … Connor has a broken bone in his hand… maybe with Fleetwood postponed he might just make it back in two ?

I thought a “professional” foul was just one game? A broken hand shouldn’t keep anyone out for long unless he needs an op to pin it. I think Marquis missed one game with a similar injury so wouldn’t be surprised if he makes our next league game 🤞

So much moaning on here! Long trip after another away day midweek. In my book that’s an excellent three points and a hell of a shift put in by the squad. No manager. Up to 10th. Could be a hell of a lot worse. UTG! Just looking at the bigger picture pal. Great to get the win, but Carlisle one of the worst teams in the league, and we’ve had one of the kindest runs of fixtures we’ll get all season. Need to improve quickly or we will finish bottom half. Surely there’s some positives there today? Taylor, a big player for us, missing. Woods and Bogarde certainly wouldn’t be many people’s first choice centre midfield pair. Down to 10 for the last 20 mins. There aren’t many easy games out there in this league and three points away are almost always hard fought.

That’s good news … Hopefully Newport soaks that up. I would say Fingers crossed for Connor but that’s way too cheesy.

I Think sometimes people see a scrappy game and automatically decide that we were sh**e. Just as some see us have 68% posssession and think we’re playing great football. You’ve got to read between the lines. If we played like that every away game for the rest of the season and picked up plenty of 1-0s I’d take that all day long. So much better than constantly giving it away in our final third and losing.

Clean sheet with Hunt and Wilson back fit is a positive - imo Wilson should be Connor Taylor’s central defensive partner on a regular basis. Evans showed he’s a complete player who can work hard, track runners, put a foot in and win headers - add in how good he is in attacking areas too he should be considered capable of being a box to box number 8 and not just pigeon holed as a number 10. This would allow Collins and Thomas to play wide and let Brown have the opportunity to nail the number 10 shirt down.

GC got us to the top 3 winning ugly, AM does similar and if we don't improve we'll finish in the bottom half! The Board now have a tough decision to make this week, stick with AM and hope he can keep the undefeated run going and performances will improve, or bring in a new manager and hope he doesn't rock the boat.
