I don’t think the owners will be as keen to pay a big fee now with Martin playing so well. Peterborough chairman likely to still want 500K. Having both would be a huge sign of intent.

You have to sense the deals now dead from what the new owner said in his last interview. Although somebody is clearly going to sign him in L1 and I doubt many teams can afford him.

Still not 100% the deal wasn’t deliberately mucked up, all this not asking for an extension, asking for it, a minute was it too late?? It showed intent without actually spending any money.
JCH is definitely off in January but not to us, that ship has sailed.
It’s curious how he continues to be on the bench a lot though?

Unless a team is lucky with injuries its best to have 3 strikers on the books.
Ideally one of them would be a younger player pushing for game time.The other 2 experienced.
At the moment we are a striker down (in my opinion) .
So we should look to sign a young prospect.
The other question would be should we also replace either Martin or Marquis ?
If the answer to that is yes ,you need to bring in the most successful goal scorer you can afford.

No way should we be paying big money now for JCH
guy isn’t starting and is now pushing 30
id be looking to keep Martin, and add a young hungry player with potential to learn from him
we need to keep half an eye on next season, as we could potentially be looking at a complete rebuild up top.

A younger, smaller pacy forward does make more sense.
I think JCH is only being benched currently so he isn’t fit and firing for when he moves to a rival, and of course they have changed their shape and options upfront when they believed he had signed for us. It’s not a sign of his ability or performances dwindling.

If we really are serious about promotion this year then we should get the best proven goalscorer available.
JCH has scored 85 goals in his last 137 League 1 games.
If we can get him for 500k in January, if he can fire the goals in to get us promoted this year or even next, to a level we haven't been at for 30 whole years then it'll be money well spent.

Happy if they spent money on JCH but if the budget was an either/or scenario then I'd prefer two or three less costly signings instead.

No brainer if he wants to come and we actually want to sign him, make it happen.
We don't have any consistent goal scorer in the side. We beat a poor Carlisle side by an own goal.
I would love to see Martin and and JCH up front, both big and physical.
3 5 2. Wide players as wing backs getting up and down.

I would like us to shoot more, preferably more accurately. Especially from wide positions.
Look what happened yesterday.
Sometimes a more direct approach can reap rewards even if it's a corner gained.
I wonder if we can coach Hoole and or Flash to run and shoot as often they do the hard work of getting near box with the last ball left wanting..
