Tbh, I’m not gonna complain if we do sign him. Would love to see JCH & Martin upfront with Collins, Thomas, Brown & Sinclair fitting around them.
With a manager who could give us a game plan up front, it would be frightening imo

Adding another isnt going to solve it. A fast striker seems to be what is needed.

Taylor is my choice for that, exeters attack play was sublime and clinical, exactly what we’re missing

For the wages JCH would get I bet we could find 3 good younger players that would also have a potential future sell-on value for the same money. Absolutely agree. There is no way we should be paying £500k + £7k pw wages over 3 years for a player who's on the decline. Not sure I go along with the idea that he would get us playoffs either - if he was good enough to get a team top 6 then he'd be starting for Peterborough instead of on their bench. Martin has 4 goals in 5 games - #9 is not a problem area for us, would much rather we get some tricky, pacy wingers in to challenge the likes of Collins, Brown, and Thomas. We lack so much pace in our side. I do think we miss an option with a bit of pace and directness who can run in behind and offer us a different option, but that obviously isn't the attributes that have made JCH successful. Chris Martin is excellent with his back to goal, coming short to bring others into the game and with his intelligent flick ons, but we don't have anyone working off him. He isn't just someone looking to get their head on the ball, if you watch him he is directing and cushioning some of his flick-ons into the right areas, but the amount of times our players read those flick-ons and get into those right areas is criminal.

We generally have kept JCH quiet when he has played against us, just that Posh had other players who could profit and score.
If he played for us the question is can he be marked out of the game, and if so who's going to score?
How many times have we struggled against pacey forwards as compared to big lumps?

Brown lacks movement and pace but could be good for us as a central attacking midfielder ( although I’d pick Evans over him everytime) and Collins is massively out of form. If you play a target man such as Martin you have to have pace and movement around him. We showed that in glimpses in the first half on Saturday but in the 2nd half it was all backs to goal and predictable.

That’s good to hear. He normally seems to be stood still to me, kind of like a poor man’s Messi type player, which would suit him if he was setting up loads of goals but the port vale game aside I’ve yet to think he was any good. It’s early days though obviously

It’s early days though obviously Agree he hasn’t really hit the heights yet and he does look like he’s got a bit of a languid demeanour. Think he needs a run of games in the side, it’s been a bit stop start for him here so far. I think he could become pivotal to us doing well this season, he’s def got the ability.

Derby main striker out for 3 months injured!. They will be in for a new one come January. JCH top of their wish list? IMO JCH played well for us and Posh for a few years but seems to have gone off the boil this season, unless he is protecting his transfer come Jan. Always seemed to me not to be a team player but all about him. Wonder what the "new manager " will think about signing him?
