I'd happily take JCH. Like others have said, it's not my money so whilst I want us to be sustainable and make smart decisions (signing JCH for a club-record fee would debatably not be that), he instantly improves us and is basically as close to guaranteed goals at this level.
That said, Martin has settled in wonderfully and is playing very well so I wouldn't mind keeping him (and Marquis) around with a younger striker added. I wonder if there's a way with could prize Jake Young away from Swindon. He's on loan from Bradford, 22, 12 goals in 16, 6'1 and mobile. Surely Bradford would be interested in profiting off of his breakthrough/purple patch and would be a nice addition to our ranks. Probably wishful thinking though.

Will the change of managers and the financial implications that may come with it, cause the owners to reconsider if they have the cash to splash on JCH

No thanks. Only way I'd want him is if we could get him for £200k or less (which we won't).

A younger, smaller pacy forward does make more sense. I think JCH is only being benched currently so he isn’t fit and firing for when he moves to a rival, and of course they have changed their shape and options upfront when they believed he had signed for us. It’s not a sign of his ability or performances dwindling. A young striker who impressed me, was a loanee up front for Fleetwood (from Everton), I think. Scored against us, as I remember. Can't remember his name or what has happened to him. But one of those strikers who plays on the shoulder of the last defender.

A largely pointless conversation until the manager is decided, obviously if we bring in someone who wants a mobile forward then that lowers the likelihood of either being here come January.
I've soured slightly on the thought of signing JCH since the summer though. Not massively keen on Martin either, not dominant enough in the air for him to be our target man forward for my liking. Watching Collins win more headers during the Northampton game than Martin was enough to make me despair. That being said, he is a lot better with the ball at his feet than I expected as showcased by the goal he scored in that Northampton game.
I think a better forward gets more out of Brown and Collins too. Last season I thought Collins was at his best when he had Coburn up front who whilst not lightning quick was very mobile and they could create space for one another which led to the team scoring a lot in transition and on the counter. Brown from what I've seen of him reads the game better than most we have but we lack enough speed to really utilise him. When we had Thomas flying down the left early on in the season, Brown was making good use of him and that was our main attacking threat.
Whilst the pitches are heavier during the winter months though with the amount of rainfall this country gets then a forward like Martin is invaluable and he'll continue to be crucial in helping us get points over the next few months. I think he'd be the one I'd look to have post January.

I would have JCH back here in a heartbeat, anything from £250,000 to £350,000 is a fair price IMO. Would target Mo Eisa from MK Dons if not, always a threat at L1.

Apparently Cole Stockton wants to leave Burton. Another scouser but remains to be seen if he would move this far south

Talking of veteran strikers. 38-year-old Pap1ss Cisse training with Macclesfield. Still scored 13 goals for French Ligue 2 side last season. Be mad to see him at that level. Quality back in the day.

Papa Cisse had a golden couple of months when he first signed for Newcastle, pretty much scored a goal a game a lot of them absolute Worldies, looked like Pele.
In the end he looked more like Nathan Blissett

Perfectly honest Martin and Marquis are not good enough for a top league 1 side (which we are trying to be).
We need more than one decent striker

A front line of JCH,Collins,Brown and Thomas (if they were all firing) would put the fear of god into all League 1 defences.Don’t think it will happen though as JCH has a much better chance of getting a nice juicy promotion bonus with Posh and not with us (as things stand right now).He will probably be happy enough to sit out the last 4 months of the season on the Posh bench and then pick up another nice wedge as a signing on fee for next season.Opted for just Martin being here after the January window but would like both.

Lyle Taylor (unattached) to Wycombe. The cheating gits sign the 33year old striker.
I would say lightning strikes more often than him, but not sure whether that's inflammatory or defamatory?
