So it us not stated anywhere we are building flats? Only source is the tweet above as far as I can see.
Have to say that I'm encouraged that the club have learned from the South Stand planning balls up to engage with residents and the local councillors, before putting out plans:
Of course it leads to an information vacuum that people on here are only too happy to fill, but it feels like the club are going about this in the proper manner. That doesn't mean that everyone will like the outcome, but a bit of patience would go a long way at the moment, IMO.

Sammy P sounds like a right NIMBY. Well he clearly wasn’t at the clubs meeting with the residents so probably not even seen the ‘utterly ridiculous’ plans.

I'm sure that will help mend our relationship with the local residents Unfortunately there will always be a divide there. Most of Glos Rd is full of the ultra left, green, just stop oil type of ideologues who base their argument on stupid and they get terribly defensive when you point out the obvious.

Some interesting info from Samuel P, assuming he's got his facts right, as he suggests that they'll be 350 flats built in total and they will cover ⅔'s of the present car park.
No idea how many flats you can fit on one floor but if the maximum height is 6 story's and there's 10 single occupancy flats on each floor then that's 5 blocks of flats needed to be constructed.
Bristol Uni charges anything from £10K p.a. for student accommodation, so that's potentially £3.5m+ income p.a. for whoever owns the flats.

If any of this is true and gets past all the planning etc. Be interesting to see if the club decides to sell off the accommodation for an immediate offset of their costs. Or if they hold it and utilise it as a more constant stream of revenue annually.

I'd hate to be a student now. I paid £26 a week when I went.

Or lease it to somebody like Unite on a long term basis, assuming the blocks of flats form part of the stand it will be difficult to sell them off, less so if they are just separate blocks. Whatever we do I can't imagine we'll be letting them ourselves.

Sammy P sounds like a right NIMBY. He’s a green judging by his tweets If that's the case I'd like to know if Sammy P would prefer accommodation built on a plot that is already a concrete jungle with a train station nearby thats due to open or prefer to knock down trees somewhere else and build it there instead.

Student accommodation Varys so much depending on affordability. The Waterside student flats on the A36 in Bath house 316 students and the building is 4 story’s high. They each get a room and a bathroom, kitchen and common room is shared between 7 students. Other end of the scale is the penthouse apartments for single students or shared apartments for 2 students. Prices range from £200 to £500 per week.

I remember living in London for studies/work and student accommodation popping up all over the place. Basically it’s the most revenue per square metre as it’s technically “temporary” and so doesn’t have to hold to full time housing standards. I had better options myself but I saw a girl for a bit in one and she was pretty much living in a corridor. Toilet shower on the left, kitchenette on the right leading to a desk and then bed covering the whole far end. It’s a definite money spinner basically. Saddled with enormous debt to get the same job as somebody who didn’t go, no wonder young students are such “King lady garden’s” these days.
