What??? Have a word with yourself! 😂 What's your problem? It was a valid question. The club is a business and if it wants its patrons to have the best experience, then they should be consulted. Not to do so is taking the fans for granted and not caring. Not a good business strategy. So have a word with yourself. 😁👍 I read that more as sarcasm, referring to us always being kept in the dark.

That's 50 bedrooms rooms alone per floor, more likely they'll be several blocks? I’d imagine 2 maybe each end of the stand like on the old stadium plans, students spend money like no tomorrow so not only would they make money off the rent but also if they had bars and shops on site would bring in a lot of money Blimey don't mention the sh... word or Trash will be resurrected!!

They have stated where it came from though. “Only few details have been published by residents on social media so far, but the plans appear to include building 350 student beds in a six-storey building” Average travel lodge has 76 rooms, so 350 does sounds allot. There is a hight restriction as well , in the past it was the hight of the existing stand. 2008 approved plan was significantly taller than east stand

No, it was a 'serious' comment in reply to one person thinking that the club should be going round asking every 'Tom, Dick and Harry' who's ever been and watched Rovers what they want from the re-developed Mem! Would be an utterly pointless exercise, as they'd get 7000 different requests!

I'm wondering when the student housing bubble will burst? Considering there are blocks going up around the new UoB campus behind Temple Meads, blocks going up in 'Bedminster Green' as well as plans for student flats where Debenhams is now.

Makes me wonder if the south stand is gunna either connect in some way to the Lower portion of the east?
Or they will close off the open corner of the south stand and start the new east build 10 percent of the away terreces over.

Bristol Greens have blamed the housing shortfall in bristol on students so any student housing should free up residential property and be supported by them

Considering there are blocks going up around the new UoB campus behind Temple Meads, blocks going up in 'Bedminster Green' as well as plans for student flats where Debenhams is now. Student numbers will potentially reduce across the sector next year as getting student visas has become more challenging, but I think that this is a relatively short term effect. I'd still anticipate that there will be significant demand from Bristol University, UWE, and student nursing staff that will exceed the dedicated student accommodation provision in the city - even with these new developments. Having said that, the 2006 scheme failed because the developer backed out in a brief period of cyclical downturn. Given the developments you mention, it seems like they would have got a return on their investment if they went ahead.
Beyond that, were still in the middle of a massive housing crisis, so there is also potential easing pressure on the private rented sector, as mentioned.

Having worked in the sector I don't see it bursting any time soon.

I wasn't suggesting fans be approached individually by the club but it can issue a questionnaire via the club's website if it consults fans with a box for comments. Not hard to do snd easy to collate.

Let’s face it the redeveloped Memorial Ground will ever only be ok. We are not talking some Premiereship quality arena!

Perhaps the roof but not the seating. It’s a good spot to have access rather than the west side anyway. I’m guessing the east and north will be a proper complex, then possibly the south stand will link into the west once it’s all done.

Being consulted is one thing but all I’d like (as someone who’s supported the club for the best part of 40 years and who will continue to use the stadium in future) is to at least see or hear what the clubs redevelopment plans are. Fans seem bottom of the list for any level of information sharing.

The club are doing this in the right way, imagine being a local councilor or resident and the first you hear of a planned major development is on the Rovers web page or in the paper, it would cause uproar and any good will towards the club would be lost.

You may be surprised, I can remember seeing the triangle piece of land on the side of the M4 which was earmarked for the new Brentford FC stadium, thinking there’s no way they’re going to fit anything decent in that space, but not only have they managed to fit a 17k+ stadium in there, there is also what looks like 2 large apartment blocks, it’s amazing what modern architects & builders can achieve.

It's always been frustrating how our stadium isn't central on the land.
Previous thread here it was worked out a stadium the size of Goodison park could fit on the land at the mem.
