If we'd have thrashed Crawley and Cheltenham most of this would just be background noise I reckon. I agree the team had a different vibe about it against Cheltenham, but one of Barton's strengths was to fire the players up, that edge was definitely lacking, but hopefully less sendings off and dramas. There's still some honest pro's at the club and enough ability. Hopefully Taylor is looking for more pace in new singings and can fashion something resembling a style that suits the players.
This was always going to be very difficult. Taylor is probably as opposite to Barton as you could find and has walked into a Barton culture with all of them on edge, players and staff. Hopefully he finds some allies who are on board.
The gossip helps no one, it won't change a thing, and will just create more ill feeling as well as making Taylor's job harder. Whatever happens about the pasties or the stands or the training ground is out of our hands and takes on less importance if the team are performing. Let's not feed the negativity as there's been enough of that for a lifetime

Taylor can’t be a one man band, those days are gone. As far as Im Aware we have a really poor scouting network, it’s imperative we get that sorted

Scouting networks take a while to establish if done from scratch, but you'd expect any manager to be able to identify 2 or 3 areas to strengthen with at least a handful of names of potential targets.

This is no way to operate a professional football club in the 21st century. The new manager broke the transfer record twice at his previous club, but results got steadily worse after that. Hardly a ringing endorsement. Also managing the likes of Exeter previous to that means he hasn't really had the experience of higher expectation levels, signing players for fees or experience of working with a larger budget. Our new owners have had 5 or 6 months to look at the football club and plan what they want to do in the background and line up contingency and succession plans. Recruitment is key to everything and we have to give ourselves the best possible chance by doing things more efficiently and being smarter.

What promises were those ? Mangs was told the job was his, and Whelan was part of this. See his tweet, the owners son promised 3 men the job! The owners son pulled the plug on the JCH deal, everyone at the club knows it. And someone is trying to destabilise the team, the players cancelled the trip, they were meant to fly out Sunday and come back Monday evening, they have a game tomorrow night! Think of all that corona wasted

There’s been a clear change in communication since the new people have been involved . I have to be honest and say I am amazed that as a fanbase we haven’t questioned more about the new directors and owners. We didn't hear a peep out of Wael for about 18 months before the new lot came in. Nothing much has changed imo.

What are you on about with the players cancelling the trip there is no way it was going to happen with a game tomorrow so I can't see it being a story. Where are you getting all this information from about what's happening inside the club as so much has been kept in house and now all of a sudden its all out in the open to be put on social media. I don't believe a word of it. I'm not saying Roadman is making it up but he's being fed false information from his 'sources'. No way in a million years would the club schedule a flight from Dublin 20 hours before a match. All I can assume is it was planned months ago and has been cancelled because of the delayed cup tie.

Whilst I agree in principle, I'd hope and expect their current focus is the here and now. Barton assembled a large and relatively expensive squad and team of staff, and by the sounds of things had control over much of the direction we were taking. In the short space of time since him being sacked and the end of the season the aim has to be to stay in this division and to stabilise, anything more than that and I'll be delighted. Give Taylor a chance, the new owners too. Planning too far into the future at this stage sounds like a Garner pipe dream destined for relegation.

The biggest question is who’s told the daily mail an inaccurate story and why?

even then a manager can ignore 'club staff' and instead use their own contacts. I thought Hussain suggested club staff would be the coaches and back room staff? I assumed that meant everybody below MT and his assistant would be chosen by the club in the future, although god knows what experience the BoD have of choosing suitable coaches etc, if they seek advice from MT then surely he'll just choose all his own coaches etc anyway? Although why would any manager work with coaches he hasn't chosen? I would imagine this is where a director of football would be appointed. They would suggest the people to put in place. I would imagine the manager could then appoint his own assistant and 1 other coach. To enable their philosophy and methods to be implemented.

Reminds me of the time UWE fell through, Wael was seen as the friendly face but behind the scenes, Hani was becoming the malign influence and a number of rumours started to spread. No idea what, if any, of this is correct (as in we only have one view of proceedings). Deja vu.

Taylor can’t be a one man band, those days are gone. As far as Im Aware we have a really poor scouting network, it’s imperative we get that sorted I fear another window similar to the one Tisdale had. He spent the whole window pretty much only trying to sign players he had previously worked with and ended up getting none of them.

He will know we need a new LB and CB cover and either sign up martin or (and maybe) get another striker in. Tisdale and Wael thought they had Stockley and had no plan b, lets not repeat that. LB cover needed day 1 really.

It's not like during the last window we spent all summer just chasing one big signing.....

I mean we should have lists and data if we had any targets. that shouldn't disappear. I am sure we will end up paying agents though who will be hawking their players around

The players cancelled a trip that the club was still intending to go ahead with, despite a game the next day? And someone is trying to destabilise the team? Highly implausible.
