With the manager (rightly) out of the loop this week (all the best to him and family), I doubt we have many new irons in the fire. Really need a recruitment team and strategy in place well before the summer. For Jan we need to bolster ranks and hopefully get a wonderkid on loan upfront - or put a cheeky bid in for Sam Smith or similar. "playing a bit of catch up" with our recruitment setup according to the manager. The fact the owners have done nothing in a year to improve things is concerning.

The owners haven't been involved for a year have they? I thought they only became involved over the summer?

Negotiations started last January, so that have had a year to look at club, do due diligence and then make the necessary changes.

Be fair , you can’t expect them to employ people when they’re not even the owners. There’s no way they would know of every single aspect of the running of the club from the outside looking in. Due diligence is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Pirate, you know this change quickly in football. When they sacked Barton, they got rid of a lot of his staff. So we are starting a fresh, from then. I think they are writing off this season, we won't go up our down. Let's make sure we get it right for the summer. We need to get the right people in, over the next few months. I think we will sign a few loans, any permanents are a bonus.

Don't you think removing EJ/JB & co was part of a plan? If we had to pay compensation how much will it have cost to remove CG, EJ, JB, AM, AV, GW & CS from their roles? Plus finish building our first stand for years, which like most building projects is probably costing more than was quoted/anticipated. Perhaps there's simply not enough money to employ replacements at present

Should already be planning for the summer now, assessing and scouting the best out-of-contract players, talking to agents etc. Contracts can be agreed now for the summer in some circumstances. Difficult to do when you are "playing catch up" and seemingly don't have a head of recruitment or scouting network in place.

I think this summer's window could be extremely exciting if we can get through to play Liverpool at anfield. Gate receipts and TV money could net us approaching a million I'd guess. So so important we get through.

If we do manage to play Liverpool and earn near on 1 million I would not be surprised of only a quarter of that was added to new players in the summer' especially as we have a Stand to pay for and.....2 or 3 more to build as yet!

We would all prefer that everything was in place already. But it's not and it's better to make the right appointments, than to rush and appoint anyone. With today's agents, scouts, technology etc, you can soon catch up.

Would like to see us making a move for someone like Ladapo if available, and depending on the Martin situation

Sounds like Rovers will be bringing in a few players soon...and a few more may be leaving.

So so important we get through. But if people so say ITK were saying our losses were around £3 million before Joey and his entourage went, then any potential cup monies are still going to mean we lose somewhere in the the region of £3 million? Delays to the stand won't of helped and from on here you get the impression the new owners don't want to chuck money for the sake of it. MT has probably shelved £10k a week in wages with Woods, Belly and Bogarde and has said about investing in youth. I think shrewd free transfers in the summer - for players who can represent value for money by playing 30+ games a season is the new plan.

However if we don't get through, next year's budget is still going to be significantly smaller than if we do as we will have to find the money from elsewhere to cover said losses.
