I really think a handful of additions could make for a great 2nd half of the season.
Today shows me we need a little more support but we aren’t far off. Would trade Brown for an exciting striker.

Can you really see MT swapping JB for another striker? Given Bogarde's gone, TC likely to leave and Woods also looking likely to depart plus possibly, Sinclair it looks like we've already space for a few newcomers anyway. |

I had high hopes for Woods but yes he will definitely be gone this month and I hope Cox and Crama if that's his name? Because both are awful and offer us nothing going forward.

I would be looking for an upgrade for Brown. Seems far too laid back. Would also be looking for a CM, CD and left-back. I'd already be looking to keep Vale for next season.

i = long term injury Based on the above, we still need a LWB (preferably a youngster on loan), another CM (again preferably on loan) & one maybe two forwards if Aaron Collins goes. Gordon as backup to Vale with Friend as a last resort (his lack of pace means he's better as LCB now IMO) - or even Thomas just fulfilling the role on the other side - is more than adequate for me. I'd have just preferred we recalled Ryan Jones and gave him a chance. MT is happy doing that with Jed, after all... We also play a three-man midfield, so Conteh, Finley, Evans, Macca, Ward is a good group - maybe another just to cover the obvious injury concerns we have in this area would be good. But yesterday we played more of a 3-4-2-1 with Evans and Thomas behind the Wardrobe, so I think a forward, especially with Collins off, is absolutely paramount. TLDR: If we can only sign one more player, it needs to be a forward. If two, get a midfielder. I'm satisfied with our LWB options tbh. |
