How badly have we been hit by continuous injuries to the defence! Hunt, Wilson and Friend have been out for sustained periods, and we don’t have enough decent cover when we want to play our 3-5-2 Hoping we have our eyes on a dominant centre half early in the window, although I’m not against Hoole starting on the right of a back 3 For January I would Send back Woods Bring in a CB, Left back and a striker Look to extend CM contract for the season Keep fingers crossed that Brown and McCormick can bring something to the squad I’m travelling to Norwich so hope we can put out a competitive side, I don’t have any doubts that MT is the right man, keep the faith ladies! Oh, and happy new year to you all UTG I'd forgotten all about Friend, I guess that says it all! Too many players on the books who cant stay fit, mainly in defence, a defence that leaks goals....

Not a great performance today but there have been some monumental efforts of late in winning and losing causes. Players were very leggy, especially in the first half. Thomas for instance, not for the want or trying, struggled to get out the blocks quickly on a number of occasions. I wouldn’t be too harsh on the boys today. I’d mix it up at Norwich with the primary objective being the next league game.

All these comments are irrelevant brown tongues are everywhere clouding judgement for managers. Making it impossible to pick the best team moving forward. Supporters are not privie to these behind the scenes shenanigans. Never about form or ability alone if that was the case Collins would be in the 3rd team if we had one. Interesting that his form didn't drop over Christmas as it couldn't drop any further.

Awful news.

Cox was literally our best player🤣what on earth. I'm not sure about that mate? He made some good saves, but the Wycombe striker scored from 2 yards at a corner and I'm sure he gave the ball away for the third and held his hand up? I'm not sure the Wycombe keeper would of let those two in? I've not watched it back, but just what it looked like to me. Not dominant enough for me. Anyway think we're desperate for experience back there in defence as well.

Second came from a CT calamity giving the ball away & needlessly letting their bloke in 1 on 1, which cox did well to bail us out (again). The goal itself from a backpost nod down, Crama I think completely dominated in the air and non existent marking from the rest, as per the first 45. 3rd goal, see Connor Taylor calamity. Plenty of times Cox made a save and he’s out to the edge ball in his arms ready to get us going, but for 6/7 Grey shirts strolling away from the area, heads down completely switched off. He kept it from being 5 or 6 & severely let down by an abysmal showing by most playing in front of him. His name shouldn’t even enter the convo where criticism is concerned. Unless there’s an agenda in play of course.

Unless there’s an agenda in play of course. Poor positioning for the first goal, but Who let Vale end up with thier most dangerous player in the air? Great save when Taylor got turnt, but surely he's got to command his six yard box from the corner? The third goal I think? He kicked it to thier player, not sure? But roles reversed and we had Wycombe keeper he doesn't let in those goals. He's a good young keeper, and I'm sure he'll have a great career but I'd rather see experience back there, same with the back three. Think the defence doesn't trust the keeper and the keeper doesn't trust the defence! We need changes back there ASAP

Thought he was our mom by some margin today, let down by his defence time and time again.

Pretty Abysmal all round today from the 10 outfield players, for the first 90 minutes anyway. Everyone seemed to have an off day and be well off the pace. It happens and I’d rather it happened today than against Barnsley, Blackpool or Oxford.
I thought Cox did well overall.

I thought Cox was very decent today …
That said I have seen many better L1 keepers this season ..
As Dude said he was let down by an abysmal three in front of him and also people not being open to receiving a ball quickly from him.
Marks from us today ..
Cox - 6
Crama - 5 Taylor -3 Grant - 4
Finley - 5 Evans -4 Vale - 4 Thomas - 5 Woods - 3
Collins - 4 Martin -5
Subs… Brown -4 Hoole -4 Ward -5
Marquis -NOLE
Starting line up was poor - Keen to see Woods gone now and I sense Bogarde is not in MTs plans.
MT sounded a tad annoyed in his post match interview - I sense there will be a small purge!

I'd take the Wycombe keeper over both him and Cox any day of the week.

Have you not seen Finlay’s performances in the previous two games? Guess he’s not good enough again……. Woods should never play again. yes, watched the previous 2 and he was weak in those too. If you say so, guy was fantastic alongside Ward and Evans.

My comments were for today alone, he had a decent game & saved us from humiliation. Would be staggered if anyone watched that today (without blinkers on) and thought the keeper was even 8th in our list of problems.
