I think the smoking bill is probably the best bit of legislation this government has introduced, excellent. 14 yrs ….. fair play 😂 Okay, just for fun, name the best thing and worst thing from each of the 5 (Five!!) Conservative PMs since 2010. Cameron - best Gay Marriage, worst Surestart being cancelled May - best Salisbury reaction, worst not getting a concensus on Brexit. Johnson - best Ukraine intervention, worst being intolerance of those who disagreed. Truss - not enough time, worst has to be the mini budget. Sunak - best, hopefully the smoking ban, worst is Rwanda. Any takers?

Not another one. 🙄
"An MP has lost the Conservative Party whip while newspaper claims about alleged misuse of campaign funds are investigated.
Mark Menzies, the MP for Fylde, disputes the allegations reported by The Times but the Conservative Party is looking into the claims.
A spokesperson for Chief Whip Simon Hart said: "Following a call with the Chief Whip, Mark Menzies has agreed to relinquish the Conservative whip, pending the outcome of an investigation." "

Plus £17k - if she was living elsewhere she would have had to pay back the nearly half of the right-to-buy discount she got. It’s not 17k . Do your own research 🙄😜 It's all a matter of public record. The house was valued at £122k when she bought it, the right-to-by discount is 35% which is nearly £42k. But if you don't live there for five years you have to pay back 20% for each year you're not living there. Bought in 2007, neighbours say she moved out around the point she got married in 2010, therefore 40% of the discount is repayable - 40% of £42k is £17k...

No , because the yrs claimed that she was or was not living at the property are different to what her neighbour’ claims. Anyway , 3 months and no fine and you pay out the £20 ? 😜

If Rayner has to pay back money or is found to have broken a law or an agreement that means she will likely have to pay back money to someone (HMRC, council, bank, etc) then £20 to a wildlife charity of my choosing. 3 months is a bit short based on Greater Manchester Police taking two weeks to decide not to investigate anything, then two weeks to change their mind, then another two weeks to put twelve detectives onto the case....

Her mortgage company thinks she was living there or not. All of this will come out and if she was living there and using it for various legal/financial transactions she could easily provide proof of it and shut down all the questions....

To whom? She's on the record as not yet speaking to HMRC or the police, her boss hasn't seen her 'tax advice' and her party hold basic documents that could be released today to exonerate her... Can you imagine HMRC having an issue with outstanding Capital Gains Tax and not communicating that to her? No? Nor can I?
