Fair play Super ….. 13 Reform nutters by the looks of things The like was for the sportsmanship, not Reform. Only fly in the ointment especially with the SNP prediction.

Looks like Gassy will be spending 2 weeks at France’s place , which is a beautiful thing as over the last few months you could see their special relationship building . 🥰

Labour hold Sunderland South. Reform did well, pushing Conservatives into third.

Probably push the rump Conservative Party more towards Reform style policies which would be a shame. Mind you, they'll be far more accountable now they are likely to have some MPs and NF's constituency work may well leave a lot to be desired. Labour need to blunt Reform and take advantage of the SNP being neutered.

This is like 1997 all over again except then I was young(ish) and optimistic. Now I'm old and cynical. But still pleased.
It could be 15 years before the Tories get back into power and we can probably manage to rejoin the EU in one form or another in that time without them.
I do think it's an odd time though. As the country moves modestly leftwards it's also moving rightwards.
Lots of divisions and splits ahead and it might get quite bitter.

If Labour do not deliver for the huge number of people who have been badly impacted since 2008, then we may well be faced with the awful prospect of a party like Reform being close to power.

True but we might look across to France , US etc and see what a catastrophe the far right will make if they get into power and pull back from making the same mistake. A bit like other countries have looked at the UK and Brexit and thought ….no thanks.

It's still cyclical and just like a pendulum, the size of the swing depends on how Labour govern and where the Conservatives go. One thing that is highlighted by the results so far is that Reform are picking up votes in areas like the north east where poverty, lack of jobs and housing is prevalent. Government must be genuine with levelling up. Andy Burnham on Sky pointing out how Greater Manchester is doing well. Replicating his success is one way.

I'm sure Rachel Reeves will be a good chancellor, but she's a robotic stuck record. 🫣

One observation Andy Burnham made earlier, with immigration during our EU days, people moving tended to be young, single and moved back after a while.
Now they are coming from further away, they need to relocate with family and staying, hence the increase in overall migration.

Think we’ve pointed this out a few times on here to our Brexit voting friends. ps still don’t think Reform will get as many seats as predicted.

Oh god, it’s over! Yes there’s work to do, yes they will need to be absolutely on it wifi such a majority and yes there are risks.
But I am going to go and enjoy this feeling for a few days. First time in my adult life the Tories aren’t in charge after my first vote getting back stabbed by Lib Dem.
I’m off to Silverstone now to celebrate, an England win &British driver win would just be the icing on the cake 🥹
