Oh god, it’s over! Yes there’s work to do, yes they will need to be absolutely on it wifi such a majority and yes there are risks. But I am going to go and enjoy this feeling for a few days. First time in my adult life the Tories aren’t in charge after my first vote getting back stabbed by Lib Dem. I’m off to Silverstone now to celebrate, an England win &British driver win would just be the icing on the cake 🥹 F1 fans are almost as bad as golf Wãnkers 🙄 😂

This is like 1997 all over again except then I was young(ish) and optimistic. Now I'm old and cynical. But still pleased. It could be 15 years before the Tories get back into power and we can probably manage to rejoin the EU in one form or another in that time without them. I do think it's an odd time though. As the country moves modestly leftwards it's also moving rightwards. Lots of divisions and splits ahead and it might get quite bitter. Last chance saloon for the centre ground I feel. If Labour do not deliver for the huge number of people who have been badly impacted since 2008, then we may well be faced with the awful prospect of a party like Reform being close to power. Tend to agree, the world is per se full of extremes both left and right .

Looks like Gassy will be spending 2 weeks at France’s place , which is a beautiful thing as over the last few months you could see their special relationship building . 🥰 Now now Yatton you clearly didn't read my post yesterday. I stated anyone (Within Reason) is welcome here 😂😂. No offence Gassy . I hope you all have stinking hangovers this morning.🤪🤪 Moi..I'm off to Clermont-Ferrand to hit the sales and drown my sorrows. Fair play it was a crushing defeat just hope it goes as well as you all seem to think it will. Only time will tell.

I see Jeremy Corbyn won Islington with almost 50% of the vote. That'll annoy the new PM.

I knew something positive would emerge from the election. Jonathan Ashworth has lost his seat. Every cloud....

Only 35% of the vote and only 2% up on 2019 tells you all you need to know about what the other 65% of the population think about the Labour Party.

Never has a political party been more responsible for their own downfall than this conservative one, not so much about policy but individuals behaving in the most appalling way that made it very hard for folk to respect them anymore, has there ever been a less inspiring bunch of politicians/leaders than those put before the electorate? doubtful, so we have change for the sake of change , will things be any better , unlikely, opposition is easy you have nothing to prove to anyone, now it's time to walk the talk, that' the hard bit! Conviction politicians are virtually extinct, for all his faults Corbyn is one who stands by his beliefs, love him or hate him he is to be admired for his convictions, these MPs who 'cross the floor' do so to save their own skin and by doing so lose any respect they may have gained. I have been around to long to think anything will change that much but I do miss debating the merits of the differences in the political parties as there aint none or very little nowadays. Just mho of course.

Either your on a wind up or in total denial. The grey over 60 vote by the daily mail is finished ! Try with humility to accept it .

Another great result from Labour is 'keeping the union' . They reduced SNP to single figures and won 80% of the vote . And retaken Wales back shaming the nationalist.
This settles the argument of independence and only Labour can keep the union. Even the Sun newspaper said ' Labour are the best for the union'.

I see Jeremy Corbyn won Islington with almost 50% of the vote. That'll annoy the new PM....probably as much as Corbyn's Labour winning nearly 3.2m more votes in 2017 than he did this time. Yes it's a landslide in terms of MPs and there are reasons the total vote count fluctuates. But I will bet people within the party are already bringing it up in the background...

This settles the argument of independence and only Labour can keep the union. Even the Sun newspaper said ' Labour are the best for the union'. Not sure Labour 'won' a lot of those votes in Scotland, more that those who have voted SNP in the past have finally woken up and realised the party has serious issues at many levels and is borderline unfit to govern. Turnout in Scotland looks to be down around 15% overall and the SNP vote share is down by almost the same proportion...
