I doubt we would have ever found out Vale & Thomas were decent wing backs without being forced into playing them both at WB due to injuries. Vale in particular must get an assist in virtually every game, even if they are not officially counted as "assists". I wonder if Vale will be tempted to join us permanently if Chelsea are prepared to sell him for a reasonable fee? Hopefully he will be with for at least the rest of the season. A lot of players are being recalled and sold on or loaned out to a higher league. I saw a Plymouth fan saying they should go for him as their new manager was his manager for England under 19s. As well as hopefully signing a few players in January, I will be relieved if we can keep our key players.

Norwich saying they were terrible but is it more to do we were good and didn't let them play to be fair Norwich fans have been very complimentry about Rovers looking well organised with a distinctive style of play and gameplan whereas they think that's been lacking with their own team not only against Rovers but for a long while so want their manager gone.

Yeah I saw that aswell, we proved we can match the best teams and maybe Norwich being a bit to hard on themselves

I see the bbc have put down Bristol City vs Norwich as a replay with TBC as the date. Surely it isn’t that hard to get the right team. Bet they wouldn’t do it with the Manchester teams.
They’ve corrected it now

Totally agree, he was sensational, made so much time on the ball. The starting midfield 3 were absolute quality. Finley's range of passing was a joy to watch, and Ward was at his best; all three yesterday showed they could play in the next level up; If Antony can continue playing at that level for the rest of the season I would not be surprised if the Championship clubs come in for him in the summer. I've said before on another thread I think Evans Finley ward quality wise is the best midfield I've ever seen at the gas and I've been going since 1988. Such a shame it seems ward is going to be out again now Absolutely agree about this midfield three - and particularly pleased re Finley who was getting a fair amount of stick not long ago. Proved himself to be a true captain and leader of men imo.

That’s to be expected surely?

They will 100% show one of them live. They always do. Unfortunately theres no way they pick our game over City’s

Just got back..
Hey these are what away days are made of! What a brilliant tour! Great company, we took many hardcore fans, great weather wise, welcoming pub that done it all with pre match food and sports and big enough to host sizable following, decent concourse and out sung the home fans and enjoyed some banter.
A nice little shout out to some of our older brethren. Great to see so many 50+ travelling.
Met lovely fella travelled in from Cambridge. Good on you mucker..... supporting from the home end so that's at least+1 added to away following.
Onto less important things:
If this was Chris Martin day, it's a shame he wasn't on score sheet. He could so easily have been, if set up correctly (grrrrrr ...) He ran himself into the ground,
Unless we're seeing a classically trained magician, I struggle to see what Jervani Brown brings to the team.(?) Yet I will be happy if someone could show me...? Maybe he's saving his box of tricks until the end? Which will be a shame, as I fear he's losing the audience now, and many can see it.....or at least think they can. Perhaps to give (the possibly outward bound) Aaza a rest? But his appearance of lacklustre nonchalance in approach, where AC covers every blade if he isn't scoring or assisting, leaves a lot to be desired by us GasHeads who value industriness and endeavour. He at least found the goalkeeper on his one and only chance, where either side would have been a bit more preferable... He was rightly subbed for the fore mentioned, a little too late for my liking.
That aside, I thought every other player played extremely well for their abilities.
Including, Grant. Nice knock, but you can see it's a square peg jobby, and any decent team will exploit our makeshift flanks.
Crama made the mistake for the goal. There's always the same pattern, one individual error gets automatically ruthlessly punished....it appears it doesn't work the other way round!? ...but after his mistake, too soft and poncy, he actually applied himself quite well. The whole defence unit looked more compact, which is a huge bonus after Wyscum, and even Luke Thomas and Anthony Evans at times in second half were helping out.
This led Cox to have a relatively easier game than expected. His distribution again at times left a lot to be desired, and he has this habit of leaving it to last second to clear the ball with on rushing players - he'll get caught one day on both - but he's still learning, and I don't see him as the answer. He doesn't command his area, it looks like he hardly communicates, but he's a decent shot stopper and can bring out some good 1 on 1 saves.
The jewel in the crown yesterday was again, captain Finley. After Ward went off, for me a m o m in waiting, Finley stepped up and delivered a midfield maestro performance, and that was our biggest winning battle of the day. We appeared to be dominant in mid. If you watch replay of first goal, the work Finley does to set up Vale is brilliant - yet he won't hit any stats for that - but his performance yesterday was immense. I wonder if the new manager influence has allowed him to express his football more? He appears more vibrant in the last 6 weeks....more energetic and enthusiasm? His form is flourishing and it's a delight to see. What a brilliant midfielder he is!
A note of word on Norwich, if I could have a second team, I guess they would be it for a while now I've followed their fortunes. They certainly didn't really get out of 2nd gear until subs came on and made a difference. Their no27 as some of their fans previously said will go to Prem, he's a right wing wizard. Reminds me of Steve MacManaman in fa cup terms... he's only a kid too, and English prodigy. So I hope they kick on and do well this season. Their club was very welcoming, even pre match stewards were polite! (I did see some angst at half time) but police were kept to a minimum and again, their fans were lovely. A real credit. On the ball c*ty, I love to hear them sing that (apparently the oldest football song ever) and from where we were they tried to support their team only reserving the disgruntlement for the end in judgement, thus supporting and allowing them to perform - but the boos at the end we will take as a badge of honour. So say American investment will propel them up the league....if we can compete in near future on and off pitch with infrastructure, I'll be more than happy.
In conclusion, we played well. Very well. With the chances we had, I feel disappointed to leave Carrow Road with a draw - something most of us would eagerly have taken before a ball was kicked. Have a look at the players on final whistle, some look quite distraught!
We'll welcome them back to the Mem and go again, that's definitely a match to be looking forward to.. We might not have the glamour of other certain replays, but MT is galvanising the quad and appearing to get the best out of his inherited players.
The rest we'll see. Well done everyone for yesterday..
