13 points off play offs. Think even the most optimistic of fan should kiss goodbye to any thought of that. And sadly and I will put my tin hat on. No progress on a pro rota basis since we got rid of JB . 17 points by JB 17 points since. Not a MT signing in sight though.... |

Not sure how we lost this... Oh hang on, yes because our two most influential players, Ward and Wilson were out injured... AGAIN. We need bodies in the squad ASAP. The replacements aren't good enough. Barnsley were poor, shouldn't be losing to dross like them IMO. Like in August, they got away with this again,as so a lot of our opposition. Needs to f£cking change ASAP! Taylor was a big miss as well, he's been playing well lately. We still didn't do too badly, but our midfield doesn't look the same without Ward. |

Frustrated but not downbeat at all.
Enough chances to win 4 football matches, chances those lads should’ve been taking. Good performance though and second time this season we’ve dominated large parts of the match against them.
Great scenes in our end for that Martin beauty. 23 out of 24 league one stadiums for me, by far and away the worst atmosphere for a large stadium crowd I’ve ever experienced. Silent from first minute to the last, goals aside. Very strange.
Back on the road already, bring on the canaries.

Barnsley were bang average and yet we were not good enough. Cox distribution again just is not good enough Patched up defence … Connolly was ok, Crama did his best to hold it together Evan’s had little opportunity to come forward and push us on. Marquis \ Collins did very little when they came on. I really will not be sorry to see the back of Grant and Brown when it happens . Championship football is just a dream we are two strikers, two midfielders, two centre backs and a left back plus keeper short. Summer will be vital but in a much tougher L1 next season who knows where we end up. What could Collins realistically do in just 10 mins, what's be honest would any of us start with Brown over AC? I can see us swapping AC for JCH this month then the former moving on for £3m+ next season. |

Yet again we've more than matched another of the top sides but the difference is in both boxes. Two avoidable goals given away and more than enough chances to have at least got a point at the other end.
I thought Connolly was very good on his return and at times we played some really good stuff. Crama does make me nervous though he looks good a lot of the time but there's always a slip or a poor pass in him.
Realistically the play offs are out of reach now, we have nucleus of a good side I think this window is now all about recruitment with next year in mind and of course focusing on the FA Cup !!

Barton 16 points from 13 games, mangan and taylor combined 18 points from 12, so a small if not significant improvement |

I bet Barnsley can’t believe their luck. They’ve taken 4 points off us when they barely deserved 1. We’re sloppy at the back and wasteful in attacking areas - not a great combination.

League this season is over. Need to send that Cox packing home now, he’s been a diasaster for us. Get jed ward in goal and get him ready for next season. Can’t do any worse as we don’t make saves as it is. Second half they had 1 shot on target and it goes in. His time wasting is also on another level, crazy when your losing.

The annoying thing is if the board signed a decent striker. We could of won both away games and been 6 points off. Obviously they decided we can't compete with the top teams at budget level. It's all very well listening to fans and splashing the cash. The board listened to the chant of sign em on when we demolished Brentford 6-2 away and signed Mickey Evans and Scott Jones. See where that got us! If you look at the January window so far, MT has saved tens of thousands of pounds a week in wages and brought Connolly back from the cold and dare I say we look better! I suspect Scott Sinclair and Friend will soon also have "a conversation". MT should go for it on Wednesday and the next few league games, but if we are still more than 12 points behind the Play Offs with a week of the window left, he should look for himself at what we have got in the squad Gibbons, Jed Ward, Flash etc to see if they are going to be useful squad players next season. January is notorious for overpricing players, so unless he can grab a few gems, he should use the squad and towards the end of the season give a few opportunities to the youngsters like Lawrence, Greenslade and Shaw. |

All about building for next season now.
Good time to start shedding the deadwood ( from a promotion pushing perspective) and bring in new faces.

Enjoyed watching that game, but its painfully obvious we are just not good enough to press on and probably are at our natural level reference league position, said all along I wouldn't sign JCH unless of course the fee was realistic and wage demands not excessive, that said 8 times out of 10 we would have won that game today if he was in our squad!
