Think we should stick with Cox, and yes he will be a fantastic keeper but he's not what we need right now. With such a young, inexperienced back line we really needed to start the season with an experienced keeper. Fully expect us to sign one in the summer.

I’ve put Jed but would like us to get an experience perm to challenge. Nothing against Cox, and I’m certainly not a hater, but why continue to develop Brentford’s youngster and not ours? It’s not as if he is a world beater. Because he may join us permanently in the summer? personally I think he’s a fantastic keeper steadily gaining experience and being a goalkeeper is probably the most notable position where experience is huge. In my opinion he was not at fault yesterday and saved us a lot/kept us in the game. Very much doubt he will join us permanently

Torn on this one, ideally we are either looking to sign Cox in the summer, in which case keep playing him or otherwise get Jed in.
However, for the sake of continuity with a less than ideal defence, keep Cox for the rest of the season and then reassess.

Where's the bring back Belly or Anssi option ?
As others have said I don't think the goalie is the problem.

Watched FL show 82 ers and Ipswich keepers did howlers, think everyone is too hard on him, they forget the good saves.
Started off with dodgy kicking and decision making, but after that did make some good saves.

For this season, we might as well keep him. Don’t think Ward is up to standard yet and we’re not going up or down.
I’d be ok with Cox next season if we signed him permanently as he clearly has potential, but I’d rather rather we sign our own GK.
The problem with Cox for me (apart from his odd distribution) is he doesn’t often pull off worldies. I don’t think he’s the best shot stopper tbh, as soon as there’s a decent finish, you just know it’s going in.
However, I think he’s pretty sound at crosses.

I reckon Neville Southall could still do a job at this level.
He’s not under contract, just saying…..

He has made mistakes this season. I'm sure whoever is in goal will make mistakes and it's that position where if a mistake happens it hurts. His distribution has let him down and in the first 5 mins against Barnsley he had a howler. The saves he is making are bread and butter saves for a keeper, in fact there were a couple yesterday where we were lucky it didn't rebound straight to one of their players. He doesn't command his box, maybe that is his age. However, he isn't much younger than some of the central defenders.

My take-out from watching the BBC this evening..
1) I prefer Cox to the lad from Bath who looked really flappy. 2) Looking at the pitch I'm really glad that the Rugby has F*cked off to BS3

Forum people you’re mental and wrong.
54 votes to give another teams keeper game time. Quite frankly he’s awful. What is he good at. Big? No. Shot stopper? No. Crosses? No. Commanding? No.
Go back to the likes of Lumley and Mikel Anderson, like real quality keepers on loan and yes absolutely
15 votes to give your own lad a good run
Make this make sense people

No wonder his confidence is shot with that bunch of clowns playing in front of him. Not even the top 6 of our playing staff problems. How can anyone watch that tonight & not immediately look at Finley, Evans, Collins, Marquis, McCormick & Grant for the absolute dross they served up. Most of those names are senior professionals! Our best players (didn’t take much) were flash and Vale, one has been out for months and the other had less than 20mins! Anyone who thinks swapping out the keeper is the cure to all our problems is beyond deluded.

He doesn’t organise the defence and doesn’t make any saves you wouldn’t expect him to. Woeful.

Not really my point buddy.
My point is, on this topic, there’s no way Cox should play ahead of ward given what I’ve stated - In my opinion - having not missed a game this season.
Cheers
There ya go
PS How’s ifollow been?

It’s a start… I was sat right behind the South goal tonight. Cox spilling the ball like that would be unacceptable in Sunday League football, let alone League One. His kicking has all the accuracy of a BDO darts player after 8 pints. I called Radio Bristol after the game, interestingly they mentioned a clause that means Cox has to start. That is down to the ex manager and his team of acolytes.
