Never seen a player's ability essentially evaporate overnight like it did for Aaron, bizarre. This season is pretty much a free hit now so hopefully he can re-find some form, however even just refraining from throwing himself to the floor a bit would mark an improvement!

Ever since there was talk of a Wales call up his form has dropped off a cliff ...but still equal top for assists in the division with Mendez-Laing.
Thought he was off form last night, but scandalous that the ref did not give him a free kick on the edge of the box in the second half, but happy to give a penalty for a Tom Daly dive from Rowe.

Let’s be honest we all know how good AC is and will be again you don’t become a bad player overnight it’s up to MT to get the best out of him, play him in best position and the goals will come. Unless of course he has been tapped up and his heart ain’t in it, let’s hope not UTG

If he had been tapped then news would have leaked to try to get a bidding war going? What's odd is Brown gets to play in the No 10 role but AC is left stuck out on the wing, perhaps it's the other way round the club are trying to force him to move on?

He was played in an obscure too deep position tonight. No wonder he was anonymous. Difficult to contribute from a place that is unfamiliar to him, but poor match and rightly subbed. Thomas and Vale manage it. He’s out of form. You could play him anywhere presently and he’s not doing great. You could play him in cm if he’s on form and he’d be great.

Difference though is Collins is under the fans spotlight. So when Vale falls over in our penalty box and we conced, there is more sympathy for Vale. When Thomas misses as he has scuffed his shot (again), there is more sympathy for him. I love Aaron Collins and the way he used to play with a smile on his face. That smile seems to have disappeared and maybe it is time for him to look at his options. If he stays here, our fans will destroy what little confidence he currently has.

He won't be first or last to suffer this fate, but there will come a time (if not already for some) where if his contribution drop further that's all we'll remember him for...

Ever since there was talk of a Wales call up his form has dropped off a cliff It was more like when Barton publicly lambasted him and stripped him of the captaincy.

Alot of his goals in his best run were screamers from outside the box. They were not going to consistently scored. The drop in goals is not unexpected. Especially when you remove him from striker- as the taps won't come either.
The assists figure illustrates hes still a quality and useful player.
The worry is that he looks a bit soft... he takes too long to stamp his personality in matches. If I was Taylor- I'd be giving him the JCH treatment. I'd be screaming at him 2 minutes before quick off to get the juices going.
Collins best performances for me have been against Wigan, Port Vale and Portsmouth where the opposition defenders niggled him early and it sparked him into life. When he takes it a bit personally he plays better. Perhaps- just give him real clear instructions... I want you to make this player look foolish.
It's weird, sometimes I think this about alot of players. We'll play and look the better team but maybe only 4/5 have won their individual battles during the game.
Were a team greater than the sum of its parts but individual battles still matter.

Maybe we need to start a go fund me to get Collins a big bag of whey protein or some ballet classes for his balance...?

I love him as a player & still think he'll come back from this spell, but wow. Vs Norwich he was so predictable, weak & almost scared of their full back. He needs to put some muscle on and start playing through the middle, suits his play style much better. He isn't short / nimble enough to be effective out wide and his dribbling is more direct running at CB's.

You need to be a bit nasty in the lower leagues and he comes over as a soft touch when not in form. The big question for me with Aaron Is that is he an average league 1 player who hit amazing form for 12 months or is he championship standard but just been out of form for the last 13 months. The longer he goes on playing like an average league 1 player the more that 12 month incredible run looks just a purple patch unfortunately. I don’t want him gone , I think even if he continues to play as he’s been playing lately he still has something to offer and is still one of our best attacking players. I mean he’s on 8 assists and 3 goals which is better than Luke Thomas who is liked by most fans and most say is very good most weeks. Aarons almost been the victim of his own great run of form perhaps ?

I maintain and stand by the notion of 'form is temporary, class is permanent'.

I maintain and stand by the notion of 'form is temporary, class is permanent'. So was that great 12 month run he had form or was that his class and now this is his form ? That was my point. He’s been at the club 2.5 years and he’s been class for 1 year out of that. So which is it do you reckon ?

Looking at AC's league one stats on Fotmob, he is performing much better than a lot on here give him credit for. In the green on most stats. OVerall 7.1 score. Comparison to Luke is a good one, we love a player that tries hard, and Aaron doesnt fit this mould. He is performing and if he is played in his best position, with a bit of luck, the goals will start again. But harder with all the "fans" constantly on his back. He is frustrating, but has quality. The get rids, will ensure his confidence keeps getting knocked though and eventually get what they want. Well done.

Not sure who’s scoring that or where the data comes from, but from the eyes of those witnessing our fixtures it’s more like 5.2. Like every one else I’ve seen most games the last 12 months and I can’t remember a single one where I’ve came away thinking “Collins was really decent today”. Quite the opposite in fact. We all want the 2022 Azza back, goes without saying but it’s been an entire year of hopeless performance after hopeless performance. How much longer can it go on.

As an aside, from their website; "The FotMob player rating is calculated based on more than 300 individual stats per player per match from Opta. A match in the per match ratings is any match the participant has been involved in even if he came on as substitute in the last few minutes. A player must have played at least 50% of all matches and at least 90 minutes (for the per 90 stats) to be included in the rankings."FotMob FAQ

All eyes on tomorrow then, the first of 3 home league matches. No better time for him to fully kick back into gear. & I hope it happens.
