Nigel Martyn - the best by some way. 23 England caps too. Hard to put the other good ones in order but here goes: Martin Thomas Jim Eadie Steve Phillips - he won the golden glove for most clean sheets in 2006/7 Carter and Kite in contention for second best behind Martyn?

Anyone that seen Nigel Martyn and not picking him as our best keeper need their head reading. We’ve had some good ones that have been mentioned here but Nige was a different class. Shame it was short lived with us but what a career in the end. Also a bloody nice chap. When he lived above the newsagents near page park he used to stop and watch the Sunday league game whilst walking his dog! When he first moved to Bristol he had a flat on Stapleton Rd near the old Supporters club. I used to walk my dog every morning under the M32, Nigel used to bring his dog over before he headed off for training. A thoroughly nice bloke and remember our little chats....I was 13 or 14 at that time

Ian Alexander saved a penalty at Twerton, can't remember who took it though Edit: Just found it It looked like he was trying to get out of the way and the ball just him! lol Again great commentary ! We need these guys on ifollow!

I thought Neil Etheridge was one of the best in what was a poor side, and more recently Joe Lumley

Anyone remember Bert Hoyle and his bag of oranges? No 1 Bert Hoyle, the legend, played over 100 matches for Rovers, car crash cut short his career after match against the Sh*t, used to gives out oranges to the supporters. No 2 Nigel Martyn, No 3 Dick Sheppard, No 4 Steve Phillips.

The first goalkeeper in my lifetime - I can remember oranges raining in on him from the Muller Road end - literally minutes before the match started. Followed by Howard Radford probably the shortest goal keeper ever at just 5’9” tall but played nearly 250 times for Rovers before retiring.

From a late 80's onwards fan, I can't argue with that. Parkin was really good for a single season and Miller was pretty handy. Lumley was probably the best in recent seasons - shame he was a loan.
Never saw Carter but heard good things about him.

David Mehew. Mark McCritical. Jockey, there above. and... Bob Wilson. Bob was Ron Green's replacement had he not recovered from injury. Didn't actually play or even sign, did he? Doing Bobby Gould a favour. Also a bit of coverage on Football Focus. Close enough for me!?

I was there at that match - end of the year some time.... Terrible time to remember. His wife became the Club Secretary I seem to remember.
