In the past week or so on this forum I’ve been called an asshole, a condescending w**ker and a prick. All by people not friends with mods and none of it got pulled up. Just to balance the thread a little It's almost like they know you Dust.... It’s fine by me, I have a thick skin and the opinion of people on the internet who I don’t know is of little bother to me. 😃

Regardless of the politics this whole scenario is just like our last relegation season, when a certain Paul Tisdale failed to recruit the striker that everyone including the players knew we needed to have any hope of staying up. Failure to secure at least one new midfielder and a striker Martin or whoever will leave us in grave danger of going down. Even if we do sign the aforementioned I still think an experienced central defender is needed to ensure we stay up. The hope that when everyone is fit we have a capable team is a pipedream, Wilson, Ward, Friend, Hunt etc are never going to have a long run of games, their age and injury record will ensure this. Thanks Mr Barton. Look, I am neither a Barton fanboy or a Barton hater, but I’m not sure we can lay our league position exclusively at his feet; he clearly believed that we were going to sign JCH as the “tip of the spear”, and when that failed to happen we were left with a team/squad that is essentially a blunted weapon. If, as appears to be the case, this was intentional on the part of Al Saeed Jr, it was either with the full knowledge and assent of AS Senior, or he needs to get a f*cking grip on his son and let some grown-ups run the club for him. Either way this appears to be on the Al Saeeds. They’re on their way to becoming the Glaziers of the 3rd tier at this rate . . . We did sign Martin instead though, that has scored most of our goals. Would we have done a lot better with JCH than Martin?? I agree with most of what you wrote though, we do need to improve in a lot of areas.

I am beginning to understand the outrageous hike in hospitality prices for the Norwich match. This thread is most illuminating. For the first time since 2016 I am now really concerned about the ownership of the club and apparent lack of understanding of the culture and history of Bristol Rovers Football Club.
I feel very sorry for the employees who are having to front this operation as it doesn't seem as though they are able to make a decision without having to "ask the owners."
We must be due a shareholders annual meeting and even though our percentage holdings are miniscule perhaps we shareholders can at least quiz the new board and hold them to account.
Kind regards
John Malyckyj

At the end of the day none of you are going to do anything about this. You’re just sad old men shouting in the wind. If you are all so concerned about the men running the club why don’t you actually do something about it instead of fighting with other fans?
Higgs board got a lot of hate but at least we knew who those people were and what they were about. This new rabble is scary but that’s just part of football now. Shady businessmen taking over a club. We aren’t the first and we won’t be the last.

With Wael in sole charge I always got the impression he was doing his best. Always felt he was manager led and with the resources avaliable backed the gaffer per their vision. There were eye raising rumours and slow stadium development was disappointing but he kept us afloat during covid. And ultimately I always felt safe with him running the show.
The new ownership appears to override processes that once appeared satisfactory, albeit imperfect. There's a real sense of slide since September. Football cannot be run like a buisness. You have a start and a finish date. Improvements don't just cost profit. It costs- reputation, fan engagement, points, player goodwill, management confidence. You cannot just change prices and offer a new product.
The ownership owe the fans a statement to declare:
Who is currently in charge of what?
And who will be in charge of what in 12 months?

People say these sorts of threads, internet warriors are not going to make any difference, it does.
This thread is being spoken about on Twitter now and some of the wider audience on the terraces are already doing this. The honeymoon is wel and truly over for the Al Saeed’s. The next round of media interviews will be different, remember GT giving Wael challenging interviews?
This window has a week to run, signings and winning football are needed.
Walking out at places like Wycombe in disgust on the 80th minute is not acceptable by new owners of a football club.
We all want what is best for our club, they now need to start showing actions and plans to justify their Premiership ambition statement.

We aren’t the first and we won’t be the last. A bit unkind... I admit that some of the old SC didnt do anything to appeal to peoples better nature and the current fans directors seem to be fairly anonymous but there must be an opportunity to ask some pressing questions of them. I dont think the AS are shady charachters at all and I wouldnt level that at them. I just think that there is some mismanagement going on and if egos were put to one side and a structure of responisibility was put in place together with some proper football operations then things would turn around and fairly quickly.

We aren’t the first and we won’t be the last. I should have addressed your first point. I have been a shareholder for over twenty years and have always made it my business to go the annual meeting and ask questions of the board, it keeps them honest and sometimes (in the case of Mr Higgs) they got rather cross when I asked them. So I think it's fair enough to hold them to account face to face and I've never shied away from doing it. So I may be a "sad old man" (I'm 62) but I do care about my football club, and my fear is that they have taken on something that they don't understand. Regards John Malyckyj

Can I just state,I don't have a clue what's going on, I never have, And I probably never will, but I'm slightly concerned where this club is going? It's very rarely been easy supporting this club, can't actually believe it's over fifty years since I walked into eastville and got hooked. I think we need answers from the top,or we may need to force the issue like reading have done.

I think like a lot of things in life, the fall out after, an inquest etc, people say their bit, it’s been made clear we need Chris Martin and he’d have made a big difference last night by the manager. He is 💯 signing and staying. I think the said has been said Conteh, we are trying to salvage it. Collins has interest, he has had for the last 2 weeks, I’d take £250k for him but we are requesting £1 million stuff. Marquis might be agent talk but Crawley, Wimbledon, MK, Gills, all going for the play offs, we brought in Easter to help get us out of the Conference……….. Martin 👍 Conteh is highly likely to sign for us, wants to move closer to London as well, we are back in proper talks and he could play for us Saturday.
