Is this just more hear say? Everything I say comes from within the game and in some cases very close to…………….👍 Fair enough - if Conteh is done is there other targets they are looking at?

Martins as good as he is, it is worrying that our fans base are so overly pleased with his contract extension. Whilst I agree to it being extended, it should have been done weeks ago.
The owners have a lot to prove. I am fed up of supporting a club that seems to go in circles, making the same mistakes going nowhere.
My annoyance is that we aren't already in a new ground, as Wael suggested he was going to deliver that, we don't have amy sort of recruitment team or an academy, years of disappointment and lack of progression.
What worries me is that in 5 years time we will be either having the same discussion or we would have gone under.
Is it too much to have competent people running the football club.

How do you know the new owners aren't competent, it's a bit early in their tenure to decide they aren't, kicking the FM into touch seems entirely sensible given very few English clubs lease their grounds.
We just now need to see some plans for the next stage of the Mem development.

I’d just like to drop into this that deleting posts is all very well, however the culprits still get to post their disrespectful posts for all to see before being removed. I think the poster should be sanctioned not the post otherwise it’s like a bully insulting someone in front of others thinking they’re clever, and having it erased later. If you see what I mean. For what it’s worth I am disappointed again that these threads turn into a playground fight and that posters feel the need to act up like this, although I totally agree the thread and subject matter needs to be discussed. I think I’ve said it before, but I’ll ask again for posters to be nice, or Mods please moderate. Lots of good Gasheads will stop posting/reading because of the behaviour of a few, many have already stopped and more will follow. Hope this is read with good intentions attached and hope we can have a forum where others feel both comfortable and welcome. 👍🏾 One of the many reasons why I don't comment on so many posts I tend to just stick to reading the forum and doing the weekly prediction league. I don't think I'm the only one that does this Nope I am exactly the same, I have been ‘in’ here since 2014 and hardly post but do read

I have no idea re Conteh bar we are back in proper talks and it’s positive. To be fair as well, I never even knew we were talking to him. I don’t ask too much, I’ve heard re Marquis interest and I heard from a programme editor DC might be looking at Gibbons but this could be rubbish. If I know anything, I say it how it is.

Still a bit early to say they are incompetent, even if they are finding their feet, owning a football club is a bit of an oddity as it seems anybody with enough money can rock up and buy a football club and then run it how they choose. In the past with had a milkman (GD), a builder (NH) and a banker (Wael) as owners not sure why of those trades/businesses qualify as being good football club owners? You do have to question what due diligence your mate Wael did on the new owners and what controls were put in place to protect his own investments. You have to fear it was none & none and Wael was hoodwinked by a bit of chat like he was by Garner and Barton before he appointed those two as managers.

Whether you agree with gashead1981 is one thing. But he has explained his own first experiences in interacting with our club. His conclusion from experience is reasonable. I think we all hope early impressions prove incorrect.

We’ve got our own Massimo who turned up and made a mess of Leeds. Everyone at the club knows it was Abdullatif who pulled the plug on the JCH deal, I was told this by an employee of Peterborough as well. 11th December I said the owners son had stopped hotel accommodation for the Crewe away game and our management was upset……….prior to this I said we had no one to take training because Mangs and Whelan had walked out, Whelan did first. Abdullatif offered Robinson, Monk and promised Mangs the job, the latter is why Whelan downed tools, false promises. Finely comes out publicly to the media and says the manager needs help with his own team. Matt Taylor had to beg and move heaven and earth to get Jamie McAllister in, he’s cheap as well! No Head of Media at the club, cut back on this wage. We’ve interviewed people from Div1 and 2 clubs, messed one individual around, we are talking proper minimum wage stuff and he said no! Businesses asked to move to 90 days credit account terms, I know this for a fact. I knew this when I left the forum, I am glad Gasehead81 has exposed this now on the Chris Martin thread. Chris Martin protected himself last night, he has a wife and young family. Let’s not blame Gorringe again, he’s now a glorified PA. Matt Taylor said he thought the deal was done, he’d have asked about Martin on Monday when preparing his side. Let’s not kid ourselves, he knows what is going on. That was a professional subtle dig last night, remember how DC did it, same situation. Everything at the club, a pot of Nescafé or a new door handle has to be signed off by this new regime. Bridgwater Gas will come on and say I’m making it up again, Radio Bristol and Dan Hargreaves also know what is going on. I hope the media start to do their jobs properly, when statements are made about us going to the Premiership, simple questions need to be asked like, how? targets years? …………….”we may spend a little this window” on the way off his Premiership statement, alarm bells then. 24th Jan, nothing, manager publicly admitting he doesn’t know what is going on, we’ve got our own Cellino running the club now. (4 players left us as well this window) BTW, banter/abuse about me posting again, don’t waste your energy, I just want Abdullatif Al Saeed to feel some pressure and to start running this club properly. Conteh was just about to sign, again his Cellino style has let in Ipswich, Blackpool and Peterborough now, we had the deal done. Thanks for calling me out I don't need to say anything I see the Martin situation was totally inaccurate so I don't need to say anymore. Where I don't think for one moment the club is perfect it certainly isn't as bad as made out. Love the timing of the return couldn't have happened at a better time. Time for another break from here.

I think like a lot of things in life, the fall out after, an inquest etc, people say their bit, it’s been made clear we need Chris Martin and he’d have made a big difference last night by the manager. He is 💯 signing and staying. I think the said has been said Conteh, we are trying to salvage it. Collins has interest, he has had for the last 2 weeks, I’d take £250k for him but we are requesting £1 million stuff. Marquis might be agent talk but Crawley, Wimbledon, MK, Gills, all going for the play offs, we brought in Easter to help get us out of the Conference……….. Collins has 100% had interest from Wrexham, I know this as a personal associate of mine is close with Parkinson. A surprise leave might be Connor Taylor! I was speaking to a Championship assistant manager who recently lost his job and he said Taylor is highly regarded by many managerial teams at that level.

I think we all hope early impressions prove incorrect. Let’s help Topper out, I think it’s easier when we list a few examples. JCH deal collapse……..we all know that was rubbish 6 weeks to appoint a manager Sam Finley going public the manager needed help Belshaw going public Mangs called him back, paperwork being done, the board stopped it. The owner saying we will do a little business this window, Martin goes down ill, Conteh deal collapses, four players leave the club. The last three points were all public statements, 24 days into the window, not one player signed, when we beat Charlton a real play off push was on Topper with your best squad since Holloway, your words. What is competent about any of this or gives you the confidence Topper?

Hopefully your information is accurate, but until he signs, there is always a chance he will get a better offer elsewhere. It's been a bad week, but hopefully things can change now. Get Wilson and Friend fit and Sign Conteh and our squad will start to look better. Hopefully Taylor's knee, turns out to be okay as well. Then add a few loans to cover further injuries and we should be okay to comfortable finish mid table and build for next season.

How long of a honeymoon period would you like to give them? To run a business you've got to behave like a businessman which means that even if you can't do it, ensure you find out how to and ask people to help you. It also means being diligent, communicating well, winning over your staff and having structures which will make them thrive. You have to lead and act and behave like the owner, especially if you're the face of the day to day running. So far they are showing up as rank amateur with no idea on how to negotiate or close out deals which is more important in football than any other industry. I very much get the feeling that Wael and Tom did their due diligence and the AS said and did all the right things and now their in everyone is seeing another side to them that was unexpected or certainly wasn't on show to start with. That's just my opinion but the impression I get.

Really nice bloke, scouser, we joked about where Connor got his height from because he is under 6ft!

I think in a lot of cases in life, things have to happen to see change, and we have to hope they learn from things. The deserve the benefit of the doubt but there is nothing wrong as fans raising our concerns, Finley as an employee did and Taylor said last night he didn’t know what was going on.

No idea what want with the JCH deal, given Wael was apparently calling DMc continually he's as complicit as the new owners.
Waiting for a manager meant we made what seemed a decent appointment
MT's now got support
None of us really know why the board stopped Belshaw's return, perhaps Mangs wasn't aware Wael had agreed with Brentford Cox had to play if fit? Although Belshaw is clearly only a L2 goalie now anyway.
Martin's now signed, I've not heard the owner say anything today, where was that published?
This is just typical of your rants, a few weeks ago it was great the owners had sacked JB now they are apparently incompetent, why didn't you ever call out Wael for appointing JB and surrounding himself with all his mates, just how incompetent was that?
