We just need Pirate to let them know which future Kuwaiti stars we should be signing! I thought the whole website looked a bit 'scammy' they are charging about £320 a month for a child to be in the Academy. So, what is the plan? 1) We take Bristol Rovers to Kuwait. 2) We bring Kuwait kids to Bristol (a cheap version of PGL?). Even as a fan...: "This pioneering academy brings the expertise and heritage of Bristol Rovers, a renowned name in football, right to the heart of Kuwait." I haven't ever described us as a "Renowned name in football". OTIB will have a field day with that website.

True. But if I had made the decision to sack the manager- I would've been talking recruitment in the interview. I would be asking- for 5 players from the division below that could improve us. It would be so central to my decision that the process would start before they were offered the job. The manager they picked took 7 windows to assemble a side capable of gaining promotion from league 2. He's not a genie. He's a football manager. They didn't have to be in this position. They've largely created it. That is what a recruitment department and scouting network is for. Totally but when you're interviewing your candidates in November you know that department is below standard and a window is coming up.

It's all a bit grubby isn't it It's rank amateur mate. This is probably the work of either the fat one or the thin one that hangs onto the coattails of Abdul who are treating us like some kind of university marketing project. I wouldn't mind if it was a decent product, but that's terrible. It's even built on some clunky type of word press site. It's just awful. Your website is a window into who you are as a business/club/organisation so I suppose they have it bang off by making us look like a right bunch of amateurs.

We are told the son Abdullatif was a board member at the Kuwaiti football club Kasma Sporting Club, but when you look at the list of Directors (see below) he is nowhere to be found. I thought maybe he could be on the list for the clubs Governing Council or Club Committee, but again isn't amongst the names. What did he do at Kasma SC I wonder, if anything? Kasma SC Directors - kazmasc.com/%d9%85%d8%ac%d9%84%d8%b3-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a5%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%a9-2/With this new Bristol Rovers academy I thought there might have been a collaboration and tie in with Kasma SC, with Mr Abdullatif being a 'director' of the club?

I don't have a problem with the bizarre academy. Of course its bonkers but you never know.
It's the rest... and the anecdotes are growing.

Reading all the various contributions from everyone in this thread is very worrying. Thanks though for all the enlightening info there is obviously cause for real concern about the quality of the clubs owners....

Does someone's physical make up have any relevance here? It undermines your serious and very valid point about the shoddy website. Not all of us can be Brad Pitt. Regards, Cess Pitt BS3

Don't worry Hargraves our dynamic evening post reporter will be all over this and should expect a article sometime in 2027.

I don't know about the top end goings on but they sure have been some strange decisions recently.
The 140th Black Arab strip for one. Who celebrates 140? But then why have a limited edition(sic)of 1883 kits when we don't sell 800 home AND away kits in a season.
Even if it costs the club £10 a shirt that's over £18k to buy the shirts. Even if we sell them at £60 we have to sell over 300 to break even and thats before staff, utilities, tax and commission.
I doubt we have them on sell or return and I have seen very few people wearing them.
Ok they can put the prices down year by year but what's the odds on 140th anniversary shirts still being available in 2-3 years time?
Still, if the club needs some money urgently the fans can make a much needed donation of £60 in return for a shirt and a nice shiny box.
