Damning words from the former Head of Catering at Bristol Rovers and now Head of Matchday & Hospitality at Forest Green. A former colleague of Iain Patterson at Rovers doesn't have a good word to say about him, in fact he said he was completely useless. Iain left Rovers in March last year to run the hospitality at The Concorde Museum, I see he's already moved on from there. His former colleague doesn't have a good word to say about TG either.

Us internet warriors wasting time on here again and pure coincidence that this has come out a day after. Going to thank Gashead81 and Gasdust for exposing the situation as well and let’s not forget Claremont as well. This thread was being spoken about on Twitter as well yesterday, keep up the work Gasheads, keep demanding answers and change. (None Barton thread)

You have to wonder what goes on at the club day to day, who signs off such things?
Reminiscent of sending junior season ticket holders 'Come on Bristol' stickers this past summer.
Unacceptable and disrespectful.

Well, there we go. A journo doesn’t run a piece like that and risk getting banned unless he has an inside line that all isn’t well.

Unacceptable and disrespectful. The son signs off everything with his large mate, the two who walked out at Wycombe in disgust at us being 3-0 down against ten men! Every item purchased, it being fertiliser for the pitch, they have to sign off. If you chase the CEO for invoice payment, he forwards it onto them. They are not football people, it’s like one of us taking on a Michelin starred restaurant and running it our way but we can do a good bacon sandwich!

First question on applying for Academy: How many children’s you are registering?Embarrassing. I will be fair and say it’s not their first language. I suspect they have wrote the info themselves because they think they can do everything without help and support. They’ll be reading this and probably won’t like the stuff some of us are saying but all we want is for you guys to do what’s right by the fans and the club. Get proper people in place to do the job and accept help and support. UTG

For twenty five years the catering in hospitality was the one thing you could depend on at Bristol Rovers, then someone decided to fix something that wasn't broken. It's beginning to recover, however someone would do well to invite Robert Laurence in for a chat and use the benefit of his vast experience. Kind regards John Malyckyj

If you're going to build a website, which is the window into your business or services you have someone do it properly, and proof read it many times over. Even the frame work they have used is clunky and outdated by modern tracking standards. I've shown it to my website man, he looked at it and went, what 5 year old knocked that together?! He's no interest in football or Rovers btw. Hes my go to guy for all things website and SEO content.

We’ve just produced the 150 Aston Villa book, socials to go with it, I’m telling you, someone on this forum could have knocked that together with a You Tube tutorial!

He would be talking to players, often. I don’t know if head of catering would cover feeding them at the training ground but I’d suggest he knows more that any of us. I highly doubt the players would have been discussing contracts/ transfer with him. We can all do our best to knit pick things but the fact is if rovers signed 3/4 between now and the window the owners would be the best thing since slice bread. The new stand alone is probably worth 2 million, I’d much rather wait and see what happens/unfolds. Clearly things aren’t as they seem but the owners are prepared to spend money as they wouldn’t have forked out a tonne of money on a new stand and planning more works. UTG Wasn’t the stand planned before the sale ?

To be fair, in a lot of businesses expenditure over x amount has to be signed-off by a board member sometimes two. Your CEO and his financial team does this, not an owner. We have an owner now cancelling hotels, manager interviews, employee interviews, procurement, what are we doing right just now? Control freak behaviour, lack of trust, terrible management, no football department. Tony Fernandes, Alan Sugar, Venky’s, Glazers (Sons), Boehly, Cardiff bloke, just a few, all multi million or billionaires, made a hash of it, football is a different world………..Kuwaiti kid bought a club for him by his Dad, Prince Naseem (today) lookalike on accounts, Kuwaiti Peter Crouch lookalike sorting the academy, keep praying Gasheads!

I wonder what Wael makes of all this? After all he owns 40% of the club so must have an interest, financial and otherwise.
Is he sitting with his head in his hands, thinking 'what have I done'?
Or happily counting his repaid cash without a care in the world?
Or maybe even leaking stuff to the press?
Possibly not the last one, although stranger things have happened at BRFC. Wasn't Steve Hamer reputed to be a bit leaky?

It is common for a business owner/CEO to sign-off expenditure over x amount. I've known it to happen with businesses larger than Rovers. Sometimes the owner will ask advice from a finance director before doing do. Regular outgoings such as utilities would normally go straight to a finance manager/director whereby the CEO may occasionally question whether they can get a better deal.

Which in the grand scheme of owning a football club and making proper timely decisions is stupid value to skimp on.
