Thanks. No local real ale though? Also serves in plastic glasses on matchday’s now which ruins it abit. The Inn on The Green around a 10 min walk away from the ground which sounds like it would be abit more up your street. Edit: as others have pointed out, The Drapers is also a cracking little place for real ale, 200 metres or so away from the ground.

I refuse to drink anything that resembles the bottom of a washing up bowl after you washed out the roasting tin from a sunday dinner and its has a name like Badgers Bollocks or whatever they try and call it. You’ve gone down in my estimation……… Madri boy. 🤣 Hmm prefer more lesser known lagers. My local, the Nut Tree in Worle serve Beavertown Bones, which is a great pint. Korev is a favourite. I also go after German lagers if they are about. Will drink a Doombar if the lager selection consists of stuff like Carlsberg, Fosters that kind of stuff.

Not a fan of the tea from the pasty huts then? Goodness no. Don't drink tea full stop, especially from a hut inside the Mem....

I'm a big fan of everyone recommending the smallest "pub" in North Bristol to drink at on a match day (when it will be heaving).. clearly you folks don't want to drink there if you want to make it even busier Personally I am not a real ale drinker - but I did pop in there once out of curiosity and it did not feel much like a pub at all - more like a converted chippy

I head to the Inn on the Green, plenty of choice for beer and cider, good to park, and only 15 min walk to ground (easier get away after game too!)
Friendly, plenty of space, good food too!
UTG

UTG For me it is usually the Crafty Cow or the Royal Oak before the game and then the Sporty after. Looking forward to tomorrow.. just a shame I have to waste a few hours between pubs

Amusing riposte, sir. Obviously not a fan of aformentioned beverage I just hope you aren't on the swill known as Carling or Madri. You deserve better!

It's not really a pub, just a tiled room with beer. Personally I like the Royal Oak or still the Welly, but I must be some kind of corporate whore I think.

Gloucester road pubs are in general over priced and lack any atmosphere on match days it's obviously better but nothing special. The area is over populated with middle class pontificates discussing the value of their properties the cost of vegan minced organically reared something or other and the love of their independent over priced shops on their beloveded Gloucester road

Welly is a bulk standard pub. No issue with that but for a proper cask ale it has to be the Drapers Arms. They might have the full menu of cheese and onion rolls if you're lucky. They are on social media and that'll show you what type of ale is currently on offer. Gone downhill massively imo. Just another pub selling sh** beer showing sport. Was a much nicer pub when it was Bath Ales but I think they've been taken over by whoever it is who makes Tribute and the Welly has suffered for it.

My advice is to do all of them! On Gloucester Road, and beyond..
Then you get the blend of vibe, cash or cashless, food or non food, sport show or not, different local ales, more well known national ciders, some for the young, some for the older, some for mixture and families, proper coffees or normal, soft drinks if your choice.....but all should be welcoming.
Do them all!? You'll need it if we serve up the same unacceptable drivel of last two matches.
But at least it'll be fun.

And, charges an extra 50p for the privilege...

Best place for proper flat beer served direct from the cask is The Drapers Arms on Gloucester Road. Proper pub, proper beer, proper atmosphere. Get there early because it's a bloody nightmare to get in and get slaughtered after 1300. Tiny place, but brilliant. 2nd best drinking establishment in the whole of Bristol. That my friend has made me laugh. Its not a proper pub, its a micro pub. Its very definition and reason for being is that it's not a proper pub.

If you like music why not go to the fan zone. A broad choice of food and drink in a small area.
