I'm not particularly fond of our feline friends (bird and mouse killing arseholes), but I popped in there for a pint last month whilst on a bit of a pub crawl.. some amusing signage on display and the ambient music provided by vinyl on an old record player. Didn't spot any lagers on draft (didn't ask either) - had a pear cider instead. Pear Cider? What is this of which you speak? The devils work no doubt. It's called "Perry".... What you might have drank is "Pear cider can be made with imported pear juice or concentrate and can even include some apple juice. The main difference between perry and pear cider is that pear cider can use juice from edible pear varieties like Conference. "Proper" perry, on the other hand, is made only from proper perry pears." Hang your head in absolute shame sir. Unless of course you are not from the West Country in which case we smile and accept your lack of knowledge. And taste. I consider perry to be a girl's drink - so was trying to avoid drawing attention to my soft drink choice

I went to the Chippenham Beer and Cider Festival a few months ago (it's a big event in these here parts) and tried a few Perries. Bloody horrible, all of them. I reverted to my warm flat cloudy ales after a while.

I don't mind a few of them on a sunny day (especially at a beer/cider festival as an alternative to ale).. but too many and I will be.. errr.. asleep

glad to hear it, became a part time supporter of cardiff in the early 90's whilst at uni. Watched promotion at Ninian doing the ayotallah. (sorry gasheads, it was just a fling) Tart The only club I truly despise, due to what happened in the nearly season and the aftermath. That was pure evil and the OB seemed to let them come at us. I have never been scared for my life, before or since. That day was terrifying

Babycham was defined as a Perry, it was of course nothing of the sort. But that is exactly a version of which you appear to have been drinking. Recommended for you sir www.heckscider.com/product/mixed-perry-500/And for Aghast www.heckscider.com/product/browns-apple-500/

Yes...Exeter City and Bristol Rovers. PS Plus a soft spot for any team playing Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle! No, that's bigamy. Wtf is wrong with you Just spreading the love! Born in Exmouth and supported Exeter City since 1975. Lived in Bristol 35 years and follow the Rovers. Over the years watched much more rovers games than Exeter. When they play each other, its always Exeter first, though I will settle for a draw this saturday!

That day was terrifying That car park when the railings went over was like a scene from Zulu lol I have not seen anything that comes close to that day. We were massively outnumbered by rabid fans and it was a close run thing that there wasnβt a death. A fair few were left in Cardiff hospitals. Very very scary.

I'd love to know your opinion of the best pub in Bristol doc, especially as you saying it's in BS3 . It will be rough as old boots undoubtedly π² Quite possibly, I can't imagine there's a pub old or new I haven't been in over the past 30 years in south bristol, so be interesting to know which one he's thinking..

Never been the same down there since the demise of The Venture Inn, The Friendship, The Talbot, Happy Landings and the Glass Cutter. The Fighting Cocks was one for the ages. π±π³π
