The instrumental record "Sleepwalk" would make an ideal end of match tune - slow and dream like.

Okay, I’m going to employ you to build me a wall but you’re not allowed any cement. Good luck, let me know how you get on. Like a bit of dry stone walling myself. I'm neither convinced, nor unconvinced by Taylor so far. The fact remains that he is yet to improve what we have in any measurable way at all. Not all the blame lies with the poor squad. It's his job to coach them and so far he doesn't seem to be doing a great job. A measured response Hugo. As you’ll see by my earlier post I said that he isn’t innocent in all this but he is operating with his hands tied a little. I was enthused by him early on after we beat Bolton, Pompey and Charlton but things have regressed quickly.

There is no defending the fact that we are worse now under Taylor than under Barton. The football is absolutely shocking. We need the big boys back to see us over the line with 4 wins asap. Taylor needs to be given the benefit of doubt and a summer window to recruit players who suit his style of football. But as it stands with those injuries we are bang in trouble. Bang bang in trouble. If his style football remains just to hoof the ball forwards then I am worried. You have to believe that MT sent the players out to play that way, rather than they just decided to do what they want.

He was brought in to improve things not make them worse. Okay, I’m going to employ you to build me a wall but you’re not allowed any cement. Good luck, let me know how you get on. I'd find alternative solutions.

Be interesting to hear from the owners on where they expect us to be with THIS group of players. Top 8 ??
Totally deluded!

It’s not a bad tactic to have now and again in league one, but not with the strikers we have! Martin can win the odd flick, but neither him nor Marquis are what you’d call big target men. Really need to freshen up the forward line next season I wouldn’t be against a completely new front 4 (I’d keep Martin if wages were reasonable and perhaps with a long term plan to go into striker coaching if interested) UTG

He must be. Otherwise they are giving him and his instructions a damn stiff ignoring. These players are good enough btw. They just aren't trying and are poorly organised and unmotivated. Bit like our fanbase and its songbook.. You’re right they aren’t trying but there’s a lot who aren’t good enough that played today. You think that there's much of a skills gap between our squad of players and Fleetwoods or Burtons? I'd be surprised if you do. BRFC are quite good at making decent players look poor. The lad from Hull being a recent example, crap apparently yet plies his trade in the league above. Crazy times. If deployed correctly, all of our players are capable of playing competitively in this division. If we snatched a draw today, half of this chat wouldn't exist!

Martin's just picked up the L1 player of the month award and you are seriously questioning whether we should keep him next season, as who do you think this shower are going to sign who's any better?
Wael's well and truly sold us down the river with this mob, the forthcoming Q&A with them should be more interesting than the last two home games, assuming it still goes ahead.

I understand the point you are making, but we have too many similar players. The January window was a farce. 3 more powder puff midfielders when we already have too many? We don't have more than a first 11 with anything about them.

If we were a top 8 budgeted side. We would have spent cash in the window like Bolton etc. Hardly anyone believes the comment by the board member. And if he's saying ' it ain't worth spending because we only had 23 games left " ( start of window) . Then it's either a massive u - turn or taking hard paying fans for granted !.

That's what I mean, we needed a decent centre half and a striker. I'm not sure about the loan CB yet but we could put out a team of midfielders, and none of them are any better than any of the others we already had so far!

Premiership, they told you that months ago 😂😂😂😂 The new owners need to be more personable. A family none of us have ever heard of and now never hear from them really. I want to hear from them and see things happening. The owners happy to be silent and let Tom Gorringe take the brunt of anything that goes wrong. Worrying now that MT seems like he is already out of ideas, playing hoofball like it's the 80s.

Does it matter if we're a top 8 or top 10 budget, that type of budget should be good enough to survive in L1? Apart from the two efforts by Evans we never trouble Burton's goalie, what's the better Burton's budget is half ours? Assuming the Board had around £500K(?) to spend this window was it really wise to blow £350K(?) of that budget on just Conteh's transfer fee and wages etc, leaving nothing left to then sign an experienced CB or Striker?

I will say it again, no one replies, 69% possession at Burton, lost 4-1.
Same players, two different managers and two different styles, neither could get them to consistently work.
One was sacked because he signed the players, the new one is struggling like the first but can’t get them working either.
Maybe we let the new manager have a go with his own players, meh don’t we let the new man get some cement and bricks and sees what he can build?
This house won’t collapse this season once the spine is back.
I don’t ever want to see John Marquis start up front again leading the line. I don’t want to see Grant playing CDM again and Gordon left wing back.

Why wouldn’t he, he choose the players and they wanted him to get the job, football players are some of the most vindictive, selfish people going. Wes, you are a real football man, Grant, Marquis, Gordon, not just one, you can carry one player. You can’t carry 3 in a team, as a scout, would you recommend any of these three to any Div1 side? The wouldn’t recommend any to a side in Div2 next season going for promotion either Some of the players aren't good enough and we've got injuries, that's football in League One. What has Taylor actually improved, because his results, performances and signings don't look an upgrade? I thought he was an upgrade until Tuesday but on that and todays showing we looked like the same slow motion team incapable of playing the football that’s required in league 1 to win games. Although that today and Tuesdays could have been largely down to having the spine of our team missing. Taylor Finley and Martin replaced with kids and a striker who’s been at the club nearly two years came with a good reputation but hasn’t really done much. I don’t like 3 central defenders generally in football and I don’t think it’s the best formation for this group either. 4231 suits it far better. With everyone fit an attacking 3 of Thomas Brandon and Vale behind Martin with Finley / Ward and conteh as holding mids would give us much more scope to play a quick tempo out and at them type of game needed at this level. 3 at the back gives us almost no width and against teams with a sit back low block mentality you have to stretch the play and move it quickly to find solutions.

I’d take the bricks from the next door neighbours wall and use the cement provided by you to build the wall 😜. You’re forgetting Taylor had the January window… didn’t get what we all know we need… a striker.

Get the spine back we will be ok. The previous manager gave up on it at HT v Stevenage at home, told them all he was resigning. Mangs never won enough to get the job, I was at Reading, abject performance like this. We will stay up, time to recall Greenslade as well. You can’t beat Bolton, Pompey, Oxford, and be a crap side, the first 13 are top 10 in this league, the issue is Grant, Gordon, Marquis, Cox, Friend, always getting games because the rest can’t stay fit. Even Mangan had a better PPM 🤣 His closeness to Barton cost Mangs any chance he had of getting the job. Shame but the club had to distance themselves from Barton and his insane utterances and so he had to go as he was too close to the former manager and his mates.
