Even Sheridan had a good game without Brookman interrupting her to wish Gladys happy birthday! Pretty sure she's done a couple of BBC final score reports. No idea how long she's been commentating but don't think it's that long and will only improve (making her sound like a player coming through the ranks) Keith is good for a summary but not live commentary IMO

After all the 'one of our own' chants fans giving Jed Ward flak for one mistake is just pure depressing. MT absolutely right to call for better support. I don't think Ward got much flak on here? He was at fault for the first goal but made up for it with some great saves second half.

And Matt Taylor said that young Jed held his hands up at halftime and apologised to his team mates for his mistake. We all know he is a young lad with only a handful of games under his belt and some on here should know better than to criticise a youngster for a mistake.

Matchday Moments/Close Quarters: That Evans goal😍😍😍 All 3 top quality goals there. The third a goal of the season contender, out from the back and Conteh bursting through, Thomas to Brown with a touch back to Thomas, to Evans with a beauty. Good players those, all 4

I was there Tuesday evening , stood right behind the goal . Jed Ward didn't receive any abuse, on the whole the gasheads were very supportive. It did go a bit quiet when we went 2 down and there were a few murmurings, was there any chance we could defend a set piece ! I have been to half a dozen away games this season the away support is always very good. When Taylor came over to the fans at the end i think he as referring to the home support. Any way off to Northampton Saturday and the boys definitely need our support because we are going to have a few playing out of position . But like Tuesday you never know . UTG

UTG MT says that he could hear fans saying "not fit to wear the shirt". That's not necessarily abuse but it's hardly supportive. Also, just speculation, but I guarantee that the players can hear individual vo8ces from the terrace whilst playing. So when the Wardmeister had a nightmare early on, I expect a few in the crowd had things to say about that and he'd have got the message. Therefore, I propose total silence unless its positive and supportive.

As a pro footballer you should be expect to take the rough with the smooth. I expect most of them dream of playing at the highest level in front of 50k so if they cant handle a few disgruntled fans when they are playing appallingly, then maybe a nice 9-5 office job would suffice?
Just to be clear though, I dont, and have never, shouted abuse at our own players. I save the abuse for the opposition and the officials. Players know if they are playing well or not, but maybe some of them need to toughen up mentally for an unforgiving football world they get paid well to be part of.

Agree, it's the same at the kids school play. They should be grateful for being selected to take the stage but last Xmas, this one 7YO forgot her lines so there was a justified chorus of booing and someone threw a rotten egg at the little brat.

That's fair. kids are far too soft these days The twist is that it was my youngest. As she is malnourished due to the effects of brexit, which in turn hampers her concentration due to hunger..the poor little thing started eating the egg. But yes, these footballers should stop playing the victim and grow a set.🤬

I was at the match, did not hear anybody giving Jed stick; this "somebody" needs to pipe down. Jed was tremendous, his kicking was exemplary, for me the central defenders could have attacked the ball better. Jed made some big saves in the second half, Evans took charge and ran the show.
