I have no idea if he had badges. Did he? If he didn’t what was it that made him brilliant? Apart from the strikers he worked with at Rovers? There is a video chat with Ollie on how he got a striker to have a session with Penrice because he kept missing. Penrice spent 10 minutes with him and improved his goal ratio. Jason Roberts

CM is good at communicating. He's never had any pace to lose so has had to work harder at the other parts such as greater awareness, reading the game, being quick to get a shot away. I notice his ratio of goals to chances is high because he also knows when 'not' to waste taking a chance. If he'd had pace then he might not have worked so hard on the other parts of his game.
I would like to see us play 2 up front next seasom. CM and a new player in the style of Barry Hayles, Gary Penrice or Marcus Stewart.

CM now 7/1 (bet365) to be top goalscorer.* He's currently on 15 goals. Devante Cole leads the way on 17.
Last week he was 14/1, so one goal and win at Leyton Orient has halved his odds.
Incredible goalscoring rate, have we ever had this before in first season with club?
* Please bet as responsibly or as irresponsibly or not at all as you like.

If his odds have halved that will be because a large(ish) bet has moved the market. One goal - when he's still a couple behind the leader and in equal 5th overall - doesn't make the bookies halve their odds. Matty Taylor scored 20 in his first season at the club

Matty Taylor scored 20 in his first season at the club As did Barry Hayles with 23 league goals and 26 in total. Jason Roberts scored 23 in all competitions too, his goalscoring record was incredible, I think he only scored 1 goal in his first 15 or so games. Pretty similar to Chris Martin who didn't sign until the 8th game of the season, then didn't score in his first 4 games.

Quite happy with Chris Martin, but how long has he realistically got left at this level?

Quite happy with Chris Martin, but how long has he realistically got left at this level? He's 35. Plenty of strikers thrive at a high level past 35 - they use talent and ability to create the so-called "...yard of space..." that others create with pace....

Maybe, lots of comparisons with him and JCH on here, but JCH will have a lot more to offer at 29
