Was a dafty and forgot Hoskins; 17 Goals in 43 Games - 0.40 GPG Completely forgot about Hoskins. Seems his career took a nosedive at a fairly young age. Injuries unfortunately. A rare case of us having a player who's one of our best at the time at the peak of their powers. |

Pretty sure injuries ruined his career after he left us. I think he went to Brighton (had they got promoted whilst we’d gone down?) but almost disappeared. Rarely gets mentioned on here when we all go down memory lane. But a good player. UTG! |

I think you can try and find minutes played stats  Chris Martin is averging 0.75 goals per 90 mins in League matches. None of them penalties. And a goal every 120 minutes - on 🔥 Edit : just worked out that at that rate IF he played every minute of every game in a season he’d score 38 league goals 😀 |

Interesting that there were fans on here before xmas saying we should not sign Chris Martin because of his age. Well good job the ageist ones on here got it wrong. Teddy Sherringham was West Hams top scorer at the age of 40, Alan Shearer was one of the top scorers in the Prem at the age of 36. Even our own Jamie Cureton was knocking them in at 37 at this level and at 39 it was rumoured wanted to to sign for us , he went to Cheltenham and scored 12 goals for them in 2014, shame we had not signed him,may have prevented it being the worst season in our history.Moral of this it is the fitness and ability of a player that counts not his age.

I would have LOVED Cureton to come back... and yeah a few of his goals in the 13/14 season might well have saved us Last we saw of him at the Mem was when he was playing for Dagenham & Redbridge in the famous Lee Brown Right Boot game. |
