Squad decimated by injuries as well. No recruitment department but managed to sign a diamond from Sierra Leone who will go for big money. Not sure what books he reads or if he’s mates with some ex prem players though. I have a feeling conteh won t be here for long, reminds me of Kante never wastes the ball, can turn out of trouble, great engine and loves a tackle, People can laugh but I think we ll sell him for in excess of 5 mill, he is that good. 😄 |

Steve... You are right i do dislike him but had he stayed on the pitch I would probably have given him a solid 6 ... He is a Senior Pro , knew we would likely be without Hunt for a few weeks , we are under the cosh with 10 minutes or so to go and he gets needlessly sent off ! KC literally had his shirt ripped off his back but you don't see him throw his arms about.... Orient were spiteful all game - tackles were nasty at times but we still get the man sent off . What exactly did Wilson do to get a straight red card? I’ve not seen any footage of the incident as it wasn’t picked up on iFollow. You can see the ref state it was for a punch in the midriff. Not sure how that was seen but not Conteh having his boot and shirt removed. |

All a bit odd as none of the O’s players appealed or went running straight to the ref which you’d expect if someone had thrown a punch. Hopefully there will be some better footage or our analyst’s will have been filming themselves so the club can determine whether it was a fair card or needs to be appealed. |

Just back to Dorset after a fun packed weekend
First thing to say, what a noisy bunch we are when in the mood!
We certainly don’t need no bloody drum!
Everyone that donned the quarters yesterday put in an honest shift and showed that they have taken on board MT’s demand to mix it up
Orient were a decent ball playing team but we harried and got stuck in, Conteh was superb, Thomas tracking back and putting in a crunching tackle late on got as big a cheer as the goal. Wonderful
Special mention must go to Martin, my man of the match….. the amount of times he tracked back and helped out the defenders was a big part of why we kept a clean sheet.
Baggott looks more assured each game, certainly in my opinion a better player than Crama who always looked like he had a mistake in him
Ward is looking like our No 1, and could ensure we have more budget to invest elsewhere in the summer.
A solid end to the season looks possible now with players returning. A day to be proud to be a gashead.

Claremont Gas without any evidence seemingly available and nobody else seems to have seen anything your comments on Wilson seem very harsh. I would almost have given the entire team and substitutes 8 for the heroic performance. As for the Orient fans saying we were poor I would say sour grapes b ecause really we probably created as many real chances as them in the first half and wouldnt have been far behind them in the second as they actually created very few chances. Corners yes they had loads but at the end of the day the number of corners mean nothing. I would say that Orient are a good footballing side with no punch whatsoever and a bunch of cheaters when it comes to falling over!

Dan Hargreaves totally missed that Wilson received a straight red:
"A real shame to see the defender sent off because he was having an excellent game but there was always the risk of a second yellow when booked midway through the first-half"

I only ask as the linesman seems to be the only one that saw anything.
I'm only surprised as there were plenty of phone cameras out around the ground all game, and I'm hoping there will be some evidence to get the red card rescinded.
Orient do have a bit of previous for this

Excellent video and commentary. I know others disagree but a game clock which stops when the ball is dead would stop at least some of this. All teams waste time. I didn’t think we were too bad on Saturday but their manager had a point in his interview when he said that there should have been 10 minutes of stoppage time. I thought he spoke a lot of sense, as did MT.

After the initial couple of games where time was added for anything I think it has pretty well gone back to last years standard and therefore the five minutes was about right but in truth it is about what Orient deserve for their cheating throughout the game. I really dont want teams like Orient , Wycombe and Stevenage to succeed. Anyway does Wellins really think if they couldnt find a way past us in 95 minutes they would have in any amount of injury time? I actually thought the game flowed pretty well and five minutes was about right. The three points made up for the robbery when Orient equalised at the Mem.

If video evidence shows that the Orient player cheated and given their previous that might be the case then you are correct ,I have been harsh. If however Wilson misses the next three games or similar for violent conduct then maybe not so harsh. Nice to see Jed Ward in the team of the week again !! ... Thought Elkan Baggott should have made it too ... |

Claremont Gas, As far as I know there is no video evidence whatsoever as it seems nobody other than a linesman from miles away saw anything. Whether that is lucky or unlucky for Wilson I don't know but certainly there can be no grounds for appeal without it! Agree with you on Baggott. Afetr his first game I thought what the bloody hell have we signed here but since then he has shown why we signed him.

An experienced pro like him should be able to sneak an off-the-ball dig on an opponent without being spied by an official. Come on, man - do better next time! |
