If they do manage to get themselves relegated then they'll be in the same division next season, how will that make them 10 years ahead of us? Next season we could be pushing for a top 6 spot whilst they are trying to come to terms with life in L1. Very unlikely I know but all a possibility. Next years imaginary scenario wouldn't change things. There's teams in lg2 that are ahead of us. Our infrastructure, attendances, club profile, professionalism, etc is borderline amateur. Just walk around the ground and look at it! Then if you go to somewhere like Bradford, Notts County, Swindon, you'll see how tinpot we are. City are miles ahead in every single department. Not insurmountable though. If, and it remains a big if at the moment, the owners' plans come good, then the gap will close. On the field it takes one season. Off the field, I reckon it'll take 3-5 years. It's amazing what £100m and some determination does. Had we made incremental improvements since we took full ownership of the Mem we'd be much better placed. Our own procrastination has cost us, there is nothing inevitable about being behind them.

I am interested, that’s why I asked the question. The thing is Yatton. Your question seems silly. If you don't know what aspects make a football club good, then I'm not obliged to continue. I do understand that league position is important and possibly the only thing that us rovers fans can look to for bragging rights. That since all other aspects are way out of reach. If you and Topper can't see that there are clubs lower in the pyramid that are ahead of clubs higher then🤷♂️ I'll give you your Luton, for Leeds as an example. Work it out. City could be in lg2 and we'd still need a generation to dominate the city of Bristol over them. Thought it was a pretty simple question asking you to explain your reasoning . Obvs not . Don’t worry about it and enjoy your Sunday evening.

No idea what your going on about, I didn't even start this thread and would have never started it TBH, why not quote the OP? If City are relegated we'll play them twice next season, that's as simple as it gets for me. I couldn't careless if they have a better stadium, better turnover and bigger playing budget if we do play them, as that will count for nothing on the pitch.

"If they do manage to get themselves relegated then they'll be in the same division next season, how will that make them 10 years ahead of us?" I was explaining how being in the same league doesn't mean they aren't ahead of us. It's not hard. If you don't care, don't ask.

Id rather have them struggle in the league above and underperforming than come down only to p.iss this league again and (more than likely) turn us over twice. Now playing them in the Championship that is altogether different...

They are a totally deluded fanbase in general I love it 😬😬😬😬😬😬 The last time they were in league one was in 14/15 season, when they easily won the league, their average attendance was 12056, if we had a similar successful campaign, I don’t think we would be too far behind that figure. Where they’re way ahead of us is their marketing & obviously facilities, hopefully that can begin to change moving forward.

Theres too many bad teams around them for them to go down. A shame that Southampton didn't turn up at Trashcan a few weeks ago. Worst Southampton performance of the season by quite a way apparently. Was Manning in charge at MK when we beat them courtesy of Evan's penalty a couple of seasons ago?
