Do you mean “We” being the fans of the men’s team paying extra with an additional tariff on tickets and merchandise etc or the owner expected to put his hand in his pocket and fund them? Would you be happy for a small slice of the Rovers pot going to help the Gas Girls Eric ? Do you take a bit of pride in the GG’s getting promoted. Would you like to see them getting up to the Ted girls level and maybe beating them ? If you answer no to all those questions then that’s ok and your view. personally I like reading about their victories, chuffed they look like being promoted and want them to carry on improving. I hope one day soon to take along my daughter to watch them play. If the owner is willing to spend his own cash (and it’s not to the detriment of the men’s team budget - which is the team I’ve followed for the best part of 40 years) then go for it. I know it’s not fashionable but I’ve always watched the Rovers men’s team and can’t just click a switch and pretend to be enthusiastic about watching women’s football. I’m not even enthusiastic about watching the men’s international team or championship these days - my football interest is just Rovers (men’s team) and a bit of premier league. None of this means I’m not pleased that more girls are getting into sport. Participation in all sport is good for the nation and individuals mental and physical wellbeing. (Maybe not women taking part in fighting sport - just doesn’t sit right with me which again is unfashionable and makes me a bad person!).

That doesn’t make you a bad person mate , but voting Tory does ! 😂

What is the difference, in tiers, between gas girls and the 82 lot ? Rovers Women are currently in the South West Regional League - Premier Division, tier 5. City Women are in the Womens Super League, tier 1. So 4 tiers at the moment - but assuming City are relegated to the Women's Championship and Rovers promoted to the Women's National League Division 1 - South west, it'll be down to 2 tiers. Thank you as I do not follow the women’s games so I am surprised at the huge difference, goes to show it’s more popular than I thought

What is the difference, in tiers, between gas girls and the 82 lot ? Are we going from Tier 5 to Tier 4? City are dropping into the Championship, or Tier 2 is my understanding. Not sure where the glass ceiling is or how far we can go before significant investment is needed. According to Wiki, the pyramid is: WSL Championship National League Premier - North and South National League Division 1 - North, Midlands, South West and South East. All have 12 teams Tier 5 is 8 regional divisions Tier 6 is 18? regional divisions Then Tiers 7 to 12 are further sub divided. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_football_in_EnglandThanks. Had/have no idea on the leagues in women’s football. Not like the old Rovers womens team will be close to the new team then. I wonder if it could now handle being a stand alone thing or will it need subsidising for a fair while longer ?

Should the club finance the Girls Team? Absolutely not. Totally pointless. Its not cheap, and really, no-one cares about it. The owners need to concentrate on the real stuff and pump all energy and money into the men's side.
I'm not a dinosaur, its just common sense.

Not common sense to me at all. Whether you like it or not Women's football is developing more and more all the time, especially with the recent success of the England team doing so well. I think there is money to be made in the future by investing im women's football now.

Bit of an aside, but how much better is the birds eye view of the Mem with the blue roof of the S & SW stands!

I think there is money to be made in the future by investing im women's football now. The funny thing is, all the talk about the size of the stadium and capacity of 16,000. If we had a decent Women's team, then there is no reason why we could have 15,000 on a Saturday to watch the men and 5000 on a Sunday to watch the women. A 20,000 weekly attendance. For me, I just like watching football. Whether it is Mens/Women's Premiership/Non League. All for the Women's game and if done correctly, we could be sleeping giants. Almost feels like we have done it before...

A good move to let the Gas Girls play at the Mem.
I know a few people have made that request/suggestion to the club several times before.
Let's hope it is advertised well and the women's team get a good turn out and that several of the men's team come to support.

Can you take your Thatchers onto the Thatchers?

Maybe some non footballing fans from the family may be enticed to come along to watch.
