Football and women in shorts , what’s not to like ? Seriously though the standard is no where near the men’s game but it’s different , it’s like women’s tennis compared to men’s it’s not as quick or physical but it’s still worth watching in my opinion. I enjoy it and watch all the England games and some of the Prem league as well. I hope the Rovers get behind our women’s team more because it’s good for the game and also there is money to be made , looking at the crowds they get in the prem some of them are significantly higher than we get on a Saturday at the Mem. Woman’s football has come so far in such is short space of time and I think that can only be a good thing for the game. 1 in 5 supporters are female and I’ve always thought it’s bizzare how many women go to support their team but how few actually play it. But now it’s starting to even out. The tickets are much cheaper and still subsidised by the clubs. Hey, if you enjoy it then good on you. Each to their own KP 👍

Congratulations to the girls.
Let's hope this raises their profile and they get the support they deserve.

Congratulations to the girls. Let's hope this raises their profile and they get the support they deserve. Do you mean support as in numbers of people going to games or financial maybe even both ? I did wonder why Nick Higgs cancelled the Rovers women’s team and apparently it was cost. I’m not sure but I think it’s the gas trust that provide finance and kit for the ladies. Maybe someone who knows can say if this is right ?

Good to see Woman playing football and it ust be another cash generator as it does attract a different fan base

Bristol Rovers FC will welcome the Women’s team to the Memorial Stadium for their fixture against Liskeard Athletic. Bristol Rovers Women will take to the pitch at The Mem for their final home match of the 2023/24 season on Sunday 24 March 2024, with kick off set for 2pm. Tickets can be purchased now here! Admittance will be just £5 for Adults and £1 for Under-18s, meaning an affordable afternoon of football and fun awaits all in attendance at the Memorial Stadium. If someone is missing their Gas football fix at the Mem, don't forget the girls are in action.

Great stuff. HGT printed 2500 flyers for the game. Hopefully this can encourage schools and colleges etc along

Could all those who support the girls team and are planning to attend volunteer to pay £20 on top of the £5 entry fee with all gate receipts going directly to their teams budget for next season?

Hey,all you dinosaurs out there! Why not move outside your comfort zone. Come and watch the Gasgirls on Sunday? You may be pleasantly surprised. At the very least it will give you a different team to moan about. Seriously, it would be good to see you there

Fantastic news on ticket sales, really is a shame opponents are not better to make this a real show case for ladies football , unfortunately Liskeard are exceptionally poor opposition having been part of a coaching team that have played them twice this season and rattled in numerous goals home and away, odds on for double figures on Sunday
