Heard a Gashead phone in this evening while on my way home.
The debate was whether you’d take an England win in the Euros over success for your club side.
Said caller said he’d rather see England win the Euros than Rovers win something.
I completely disagree. Club over country for me. That’s probably because of how disillusioned I am with football at the top level and the lack of support for lower league sides.
What do you think?

Depends on the level of winning. Mostly gas, but if you have me the choice of the the JPT Cup win or England winning the World Cup, then definitely I’d defer to England

I’d love it if England won the euros but would take promotion for the Gas next season over England winning it in Germany this year for sure.

Would always have been England first when I was younger but so many let downs in the past 30 odd years and decent squads being wasted by several managers that I gave up and haven’t watched a game for a good few years now. Would take a Rovers promotion and a sustained spell in the second tier over an England tournament win now. (Still wouldn’t want us to get to the Prem though!)

Gas for me, sometimes I still let myself daydream about declining a national call up in order to play for rovers! Also it’s a lovely unique thrill if a Bristol rovers flag is spotted at an England game on the telly

One of those things that media companies use to create a point of interest but isn't actually a choice.

Really cut back on the gas over the past few season for various reasons. Just doesn’t feel worth the time and money at times
Still follow England home and away most games, brilliant times despite the rubbish football.
Home games arnt as exciting but love following them away.
Would 100% take a World Cup over rovers promotion

England for me all day long unless it’s us getting into the Premiership.
I’ve seen us win promotion to the championship and today it would be short lived. I was at Wembley when we lost to Italy in the Euro’s, I have tickers for Germany this summer in the Euros. I’ve done 2 World cups away, 3 Euro’s, us winning a major trophy and attending would pip anything now for me unless we won a major trophy or promotion to the Premiership.
The question needs a stipulation on winning what.

Have travelled all over Europe & beyond, by all modes of transport, sleep deprived from departure gate overnighters, stayed in hellholes you wouldn’t wish on a wild animal, thousands spent & shift swaps a plenty, all the ups & downs of the beautiful game right on top… So in full agreement with you. Future Gas promotions will be there no problem, England winning one of the biggest prizes most likely be a once in a lifetime gig. Hopefully one night in Berlin this July🤞🏻
