That’s some statement in saying he needs time away from, or some of, the players. Quite damning really No doubt the players are saying the same about him. Which is what he said......

Maybe it's just me but for the past 5-10 years I've just usually gone through the "if we finish above where we finished last year, I'll be satisfied." It seems we've had a number of seasons with discussions of League 1 Playoff race (16-17, 18-19, 19-20, 23-24) that we're always a million miles off of. Also, here's a genuine question; when have we ended up Overachieving? When was the last time we all had our expectations at the beginning of the season and ended up surpassing that? Can't have been one instance throughout the 2010s and on? The promotion of 2016? Everyone expected a season of settling in League 2 after getting back out of the Conference and then DC/the team managed to do the back-to-back. I always had an air of expectancy from that squad and manager. That was really getting our Rovers back. Whatever happens behind the scenes is never as important as having a winning team

I see a tall dark stranger, getting the sack probably I hope not he’s doing a great job of taking the reds towards the relegation spots. Too many teams in the mix. They will stay up but, reading their comments right now is comedy gold

Did Evans slip for the pen? Almost like he fell after. I thought exactly the same he didn't seem to slip as he took the kick, given how far he missed the target you do have to wonder if he missed on purpose, then fell to just try and cover up his miss.

Some don’t like the hearing the truth. When we never had a mid week game, everything was set up and engineered around the two Mercedes Veto’s pulling back in at the Quarters ar 2pm on a Tuesday, even the players living local got used to the Bank Holiday Monday’s most weeks! No doubt in tomorrow being coached how to defend or 9am Tuesday. The apple cart has been well and truly upset. The difference now is Taylor is moving to the area and McAllister has left his son up at Hibs on his own back done here. Wayne Carlisle is local as well, all committed to the club, the Veto days are over. Three managers, one thing remains consistent, an inconsistent squad which has learned bad habits from the start. “I” hope “I” haven’t offended again telling the truth. You may well be right roady. The living away from your home to work probably only works for a short period and in football when things aren’t going well questions on both sides are asked. Good to hear club staff are becoming more local, it must be a positive change for the club. It may work in the short term but over a period of time it becomes more difficult. And of course you’re right about the only consistent thing about us is our inconsistency. But boy, roady, your posting ‘style’ really gets some on here going. You love a good wind-up. 😉 It’s entertaining to read and it gives me a good chuckle, seeing the difference between what you say and how you say it. 👍 And the bottom line of it all for me as a fan is that this season we’ve beaten some top teams when we’ve played well. Not sure we did that last season and now we are on for one of our best finishes this century. Someone has done a great job at lifting expectations amongst the fan base so that when we have a bad day like yesterday, the MDT reaches 39 pages with several meltdowns. Pure entertainment!! We have no relegation worries, owners are slowly putting plans into place and we have moved on with a decent (I think) manager in place who I hope will be helped to recruit some decent players to help us improve next season. It’s BRFC so nothing will ever be perfect buts it’s as good as it can be perhaps. MTs short term problem is managing players who know they may not be here next season and getting some pride into them to do a decent job over these next few weeks. I hope what you said a few weeks ago roady, that certain targets are likely to sign when the window opens happens. It won’t help MT in the next few weeks though and I don’t envy him managing those players. But we stick with him and the owners and plan towards the big picture stuff and not get sidelined by players who don’t perform. Should be an interesting time at least. UTG! Sometimes you can look at the painting and never see the picture. Many were predicting a big loss so why lose it when it was self fulfilling prophecy ?

But this is it , polar opposite posts , yet the proof will be in the pudding as none of us have a crystal ball!
More than likely the overhaul will now be bigger than previously thought , certainly judging from yesterday and what MT is saying.
All this leads me to believe the promotion bus season may be later than first thought.
MT still has my backing , but not sure he could motivate a Lamborghini , very dour and uninspiring pre matches...let’s see next season.
That’s a very odd similitude of motivating a Lamborghini 😂. Interesting though. Can inanimate objects be motivated ? I guess modifying would be the closest. In that case I guess he could modify some players, maybe stick a blower or turbo on them 😜. I love these type of posts, they appeal to my weird sense of humour Admittedly I was struggling to come up with an example and the car kept coming up in my head , so stuck with it. Mabey MT has one in his garage , that reminds me must get mine off to be MOT'd

I think we can now say the squad was never as good as we all believed it was in august (including me) We must give MT time in the summer and to see his squad perform in the first few weeks. The management must also get to the bottom of the injuries at the club, this has been going on for 3 seasons now where the first half of the season is marred with a full team of injured players, there must be something we are doing? It doesn’t matter who the manager is you can’t get a settled team or spirit in the team when we have at least 3 or 4 senior players out with strains and tears from training ground matches. I always knew Lincoln would spank us, they’re the form team, we are under strength all over the park, and for me the season was essentially over in August as a promotion potential season with the JCH debacle. The injury crisis have been going on more than 3 seasons. I started a thread over 5 years ago asking : why have we got 5-10 players out ever single game? Yesterday was no exception we had 9 players unavailable for other reasons . It's got to a stage we're fans look to who is avaliable rather than who isn't . This can't continue . I can actually remember that

Missed on purpose you can't honestly be serious, 4-0 down game long gone so Evans thinks I know I'll kick this pen over the stand, that will show em !!

I can’t see the owners providing sufficient money for Rovers to be challenging for a top six finish next season. Talk is well and good but the stadium rebuild also has to be taken into consideration. It might not be the manager making certain players unhappy! The club has yet to have sufficient funds in 30-years for a second tier return. It certainly makes one have a long hard think about purchasing season tickets!! Not sure many of us buy renew season tickets on the basis that we'll be genuine L1 promotion contenders, I'm not sure we've ever been one at the start of the season in recent memory.

Me too. Sorry to go off topic but would make sense to send a reminder, as with tax, I’ve had to not use the car over the weekend due to this but am allowed to drive it to the garage.

Why not MT is suggesting players aren't turning up, have you watched the penalty, it seems to miss by miles not just a couple of inches, and what was the odd fall about.

Was Trevor Clarke on loan when Taylor came in? Belshaw was on loan with FGR at that point also? I don't understand the comment. When a new manager comes in mid season, surely there are many times that happens and players are out on loan? So maybe it is something else? Clarke was not on loan. The season in Ireland ended Nov. Mangan tried to get Belshaw back was blocked. So think loan was over. It was only ever a 7 day emergency loan, we could have recalled him at any point of his loan. You wonder if the Scouse contingent were calling in after a match to say they'd be training in Liverpool rather than travelling back to Bristol, perhaps that explains his previous comment about so few players turning up for training the day after a match.

So who exactly is not playing for the Manager. Finley is skipper? Sinclair - hardly. Jevani Brown - played for him before. Loanees? Youngsters? It's just unsubstantiated rumours...like a lot on forums. And the reality is …… If we had scored our 5 chances would we still be saying the same because in my book Lincoln, regardless of the run they are on, were equally poor in defending and had to rely on a very good keeper display. Shame it wasn’t our keeper on the day. That game could have gone either way

We could have been 4-3 up at half time.

How could we have been easily 4-3 up when we couldn't convert even one chance, I'm not even sure Martin's shot would have beaten the man on the line if the goalie hadn't saved his shot and Brown's angle always made it easy for the goalie to save his shot. I doubt any time in history has been unlucky to lose 5-0, Lincoln even scored their 5th when we had an extra player on the pitch, as poor performances go that was up there with those listed earlier on the thread. Garner's run of results were far better just before he was dismissed.

It's hardly a surprise we don't need MPV's to transfer players around but I doubt that's the owners biggest financial worry. What's that recent tweet about them still owing £75,000 for arranging a loan/grant for the new stand all about? The new owners have not paid for the maintenance and servicing of the Veto’s, 6 months overdue, likely to go to court. They were used for the management team, some players got lifts in them. Jack Marriott, was on £800 a month relocation package at Fleetwood, took it and commuted from Northampton still every week, no one they are in trouble, he refused to move to Lancashire. When people say oh I hear he’s on £4K a week, they have no idea what makes up a contract, Finley and all of them will have relocation allowances. Why would they buy them in finance in the first place, rather than just lease them?
