Without rehashing the how did the JCH deal fall apart discourse again, who would you REALISTICALLY like to see in the team and back up next season?
First stab
1sts: Will Evans + The next Sam Nombe (need help here Pirate!) Sub/cover: Martin Brown Greenslade
You?

Whoever they are and I think we need three - at least two of them need to be pacy and not afraid to run at defenders, as well as hassle them when they are playing out from the back.
Big , strong on the ball, pacy with an eye for goal - Not too much to ask surely haha !!
We will see these qualities first hand this Saturday - Peterborough front line is a class act.
I sense we will be looking Non League / L2 for at least one of them.

I think Sam Nombe will be out of our price range (wages) Will Evans is a good shout as he is on very little and had a great season. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 3 you have as cover wont be here next season as a lot of unrest with th group at the moment. I think everything will be on a small budget next year and i am not sure we will entice good players to come. I have heard that most that are out of contract want to leave. It is a shame but i think next year is going to be a battle! I hope things change at the top and start getting things together as after all the turmoil of the last season i really want to see some stability at the club. I would not be too surprised to see quite a few loan signings again next year including a young striker.

But that is the type of striker I think we need. Hopefully the end of the season means a better feeling around the club and we can be in a better position in retaining who we want to keep.

At the very least we need pace and options.
Marquis - released Greenslade - released Brown - isn't a striker/will be moved on Martin - great finisher but his pace and stamina will only decrease further next season
We should be looking at 'rough diamonds', 10+ goal strikers from non-league and scouting all lower domestic leagues for forwards with good stats, goal contributions, shots on target %, dual win % etc.
Hoping we add 3 forward options, 4 if Brown is moved on.

If we were apparently willing to pay between £500k and £1m for JCH could a similar sum tempt M’Boro to let Coburn leave? Does he feature in their plans for next season? Would he be interested in taking a step down to progress his career - a decision Connor Taylor made the previous year?

Whilst Coburn started the season well, he went off the boil and we would have to pay good money for him. Peterborough find good non league players and it is interesting to watch the Barry Fry documentary on sky - where he is filmed watching an under21 game at Sheffield United at lunchtime on a midweek and then taking in a southern league premier match in the evening . He asks both times- "anyone we should be looking at?" You would hope that since Friend took over his new position we have got people doing that.

Now I feel we are in a position to get JCH, this time Rovers hold most of the aces if JCH seriously wants to come back.
I wouldn't say No this time in respect but' would he be doing this totally on a selfish way or genuinely want to return?

George Friend was a legend at Boro so will know of Coburn.

I doubt his dodgy" agent cares less about his dad living locally he'll just be looking at the £'s and the length of contract on offer. Abdullatif has already stated he doesn't intend "buying" promotion, which signing JCH surely would be?

Not fascinated by ex-players but thought he did well with us and has a lot of potential. If M’Boro are not so convinced and allow him to leave I’d hope we would be interested. I’ve never hidden behind the fact I’m not massively knowledgeable about all players at all levels - I’ll leave that to Pirate. I’d be interested to learn a bit more about which hidden gems you are aware of that we could bring in to hit the ground running.

I'd imagine he has little say in that or he'd have never moved to a dump like Peterborough and he'd probably already be a Rovers player. There's something odd about continuing to use a disqualified agent, it's not like they are hard to find.

As long as Marquis isn't one of them.
If he'd shot at John Lennon, he'd be 83 years old (Lennon).

Behave - you make it sound like the agent holds a power of attorney 🤣

This saga with Clarke-Harris is distracting from the point that we need hungry lads who actually want to be here - Not for the money, but for the desire to succeed and get themselves noticed.

Not getting as many suggestions as I’d hoped. Come on people who’d you like to see in the squad next season?
