Plus he talked nonsense pre match about Brown being able to play the pressing game then he just strolls around the pitch.

Just got back..
Wow what a day out. With special guests, the league of nations..
I think some were genuinely amazed at how many turned out for a match that didn't mean anything, and how good natured the crowds were!? Albeit a bit quiet from the south stand. Hilarious times new friends and old, it never surprises me what the bounty of the Road throws up (soometimes literally!) and you never know who'll you bump into...
Anyhoos onto something less important: Throw a chicken in the air....? What was that all about!?? I didn't see any deck chairs up a nose...
Poor CT and JH...I guess they get an early premature deck chair (not up a nose!?) for beach football and hope their rehab starts asap to be fit for the new season, but I'm starting to worry about our pre season prep is already tainted.
Well done LT and SS yesterday, a flurry of opportunities but in all honesty, the day fell to Posh because it's their party and as much huff and puff we produced, we just couldn't blow their house down.
I'm coming out and saying it after considering time and watching from different angles: Jervani Brown has underperformed all season to the point I consider his inclusion a hindrance, rather a good acquisition. I'm sorry to say. Yes one or two nice moments, but no way near enough and the poorest signing for a while.
Well done all loanees, they put a shift in, even Cox whom I think is a working progress. He'll take something from our club I'm sure..
Gerry knows where we would be if we didn't have CM, which we don't for a few matches, but everyone at the club should owe a debt of gratitude for his goals and up front lone play that has almost single handedly saved us from relegation threats or worries....so a priority is to find a competent understudy.... because JB is certainly not that and I can't see ever will be.
With penultimate match damp squib thoughts, I see this as a wasted season. I get that we're in transition, which is never going to be pretty, but the timing of this is so poor. We are competing in probably one of the weakest divisions in years and have missed that opportunity to compete for promotion..... next year we have some big clubs and spenders replacing the likes of Pompey etc which won't make our campaign easier.
I refer back to one of my posts in 2019: The appointment of BG will put us back 5 years...... unless we're 2nd or above in December, I fear I was optimistic with the 5 years!
The future is clouded and it's going to be a challenge to get to where we were under the Midas GC, but isn't that what being a GasHead is all about?
The humour, sometimes self depreciation and optimism, and full of hope rather than expectation is also what being a GasHead is all about too...??... and that culture was what was exposed to the league of nations, and I hope they took that bit home with them with a smile and perhaps return in better climes ... Almost ciao.

I thought that we are so far off being a top 6 League one side yesterday that I despair for next season. I genuinely think that we will struggle to be a top half side in 2024/ 25, given the amount of change that will take place. 2 things stood out. We have no perceptible pattern of play. Rigid 4-2-3-1 where we clearly had no 1 and there was no press whatsoever. MT said that he wants us to press, but there was nothing to indicate that that there was even intent to do that. Frankly, I was bored watching that yesterday. I watched the lap of thanks which was frankly cringeworthy given that there was no-one there. I watched MT closely and he was almost aloof, stood alone, apart from the odd word with Wayne Carlisle. He is an intelligent, honest guy, but I worry that he does not have those powers of persuasion, the personality to galvanise players, staff and fan base. Crowds will drop next season, as the optimism is evaporating fast. Mediocrity is our new identity to use modern football parlance. There absolutel was. Granted Peterborough managed it really well. Maybe watch the extended higlights.

I thought it was an ok performance against an excellent side, buoyed by a Wembley Win and who had plenty of energy across the pitch.
Something for us to aim for…
Our bench was woefully weak … we are a team that weakens not improves when we change things …
Incredible that we have another hamstring injury … perhaps someone should look at how we warm up ?
Can only hope we are bold in the summer … clear out ALL who add little whether contracted or not and start laying some foundations built on a solid base and not quicksand.

Been looking at the CM incident. Its a clear case of assault. We dont know the circumstances - there must have been serious provocation. However, if the police get involved we could be looking at more that a 4 game ban. CM was there yesterday with his family, laughing and jokin g with supporters. Maybe he should have stayed away in shame.

MT and GF need to have an amazing transfer window for us to have any chance of a successful season - with so many changes to the playing squad it’s hard to see them being able to gel and hit the ground running. I’m a bit worried about next season tbh.

I wonder if Matt Taylor will still be in charge if Rovers’ are struggling come December of next season?

I don't get all the moral high ground stuff because it's a head butt,is that worse than an elbow, over the ball tackle etc ,why is one an assault and the others not?

Why do you wonder about us struggling? Can you clarify? I had to think about it a bit. Do you mean (1)how can anyone possibly think we'll be struggling after a good summer's recruitment and a great manager in charge? Or (2) no need to wonder about it - it's a certainty!

No need, we are the Pirates. We need not only a new manager and team but the owners to be trueful and get their act together. Wish they were all BRISTOLIONS and not Kuwaites, we cannot wait much longer.

I am chortling again over the fact that someone who demands a Bristolian can't actually spell Bristolian. Unless he actually wants an actual lion to be in charge.
