Some harsh comments. Thought we deserved a point tbh. Considering we were playing without a striker against a team who was chasing automatic promotion on the penultimate day, I thought we did ok - especially second half. What were people expecting I guess a L1 side losing £5m a season to have more than one striker on its books? Although having looked back at the Cambridge match replay on iFollow I can't see what Martin did to warrant a red in the 41st minute, as no Cambridge player seemed to appeal for anything. I also can't understand how a sending off for two yellows leads to a 4 game ban for a red. Apparently it was a headbutt on their player Jobe off the ball. Silly sod Martin

Decent game of football without too many big chances. Peterborough have better players than we do at this point in time but we pretty much matched them.
Likely the last we've seen of finley and marquis imo. I doubt we'll see any of the loanees back either. Martin and sinclair will be at the mem for 1 more year.
Anyone that left before clapping the players off needs to have a look at themselves. Especially if they were happy to clap them off at the end of last season. More points and a higher position yet all there seems to be is doom and gloom. Not the best or most entertaining season by any stretch but if all you're going for is to see perfection every week you can go get a man city ticket. Tired of all the whining bar stewards at the moment.
See you all next season, refreshed and ready to go again.

Glad I’ve seen the back of the mem for a while , water poor season. Won’t be keeping an eye on the Wigan game so have a good summer all !! I’ll be glad of a break but this season hasn’t been as bad as some will make out. We’ve stayed in the league and had some good results along the way. Our problem has been we can’t score goals and have generally had quite an inexperienced defence. People forget seasons like those we’ve been relegated out of league one or worse league two, or seasons like when Garner threw away a 3rd place position and was only stopped from further capitulation by Covid bringing play to an end. Compared to those this season has not been bad at all. Sign an experienced striker (who could possibly fill this role?), one or two up and coming hopefulls and extend Martin and some experienced heads alongside players like Taylor and Connolly and we’ll come back in August excited for the season ahead. The lack of strikers is a massive problem I agree but that’s obvious isn’t it. It’s the lack of pace in the side which hardly ever gets brought up on here or on the terraces that I find confusing. We literally don’t have one player who is rapid. Thomas is our quickest and I wouldn’t call him that quick, when he beats his man it’s usually skill and movement more than down to pace. Our only two strikers are very similar Marquis is a very poor man’s Martin and Sinclair is still a decent player but lost that incredible pace he once had. The lack of pace makes us predictable and slow which is what Barton built us like and so far Taylor hasn’t been able to really address it. I really hope he feels the way I do about this as if we don’t inject some quickness in to the squad in the summer we ain’t going to get anywhere near the top 6 next season.

Not the worst performance but it really did highlight how weak we are without Martin. No focal point and although we did create chances I never felt confident we were going to score. I felt a bit for Brown, he's not a no9 & having to fight off the centre backs for anything knocked long was never going to end well I'm not sure what the rules are but if Greenslade is eligible for next week I'd absolutely be starting him. I'd love to see Baggott back next season, JCH we all know is a handful & he never had a kick. Fingers crossed Ipswich go up & we xan get him back either on loan or permanently permanently

Monk is not happy about it Jobe still played the rest of the match though. If it is true and Martin did headbut him with enough force to cause concussion, he should be thoroughly ashamed of himself and should be fined heavily by the club. If I was the manager I'd have to think very hard before offering him an extension to his contract if that's how he conducts himself.

Honestly, the bunch of aholes that got us relegated to non-league got almost got as much applause as the team today who gave it a real go second half. Dissapointing season but it was pretty sad and undeserved seeing the team out on the pitch in front of about 800 remaining fans. Peterbrough clearly a well drilled, strong, pacy and obviously better side but it wouldn't take all that much for us to get to that level based on what I saw today.

Would not extend his contract. Thanks for keep us up. Bye. Look at how a very poorly supported Peterborough can build a strong fast attacking team. Make that our benchmark.

Posh make so much from transfers they don't have to worry about having a large fan base, assuming Toney leaves Brentford this summer that's another few £m's heading their way and Mason-Clarke has already left for £3m this season.

I agree regarding building a strong fast attacking team. Regarding Martin I’m surprised he’s done that because off the pitch he comes across as a nice genuine bloke and an intelligent one at that. But that is twice now he’s head butted a player off of the ball and that is unacceptable. Tbh I’d like to think that we’ll bring in at least one striker preferably two that will be more mobile and younger than him next season anyway. He did hit prolific form this season but that’s the first time in his career that that has happened so I don’t think we should be going in to next season with him as our main striker anyway. We need to somehow ship Marquis out is he out of contract ? And get two new strikers in to replace him and Collins. As much as I like Sinclair I think we’d benefit from a quicker more direct younger player down that side also. As you say Pace and Power is so important and Barton built an injury prone aging squad with a slow patient build up in mind. Taylor can’t be blamed for that but if he doesn’t address it in the summer then it’ll be another bottom half finish I’m afraid.

Poorly supported but well run in terms of turnover from transfers.

i thought that Randall the number 14 was perhaps Poshes standout player today so i looked him up. Was on loan to Weston Super Mare in 2019 playing 14 times and scoring 5 goals before returning to his home club before Exeter and then onto Peterborough. His manager at Exeter was Matt Taylor . Can we find some more like hinm please?

Pretty sure Taylor, McAllister and Carlisle did the lap of honour. They were stood back a bit but if I was in their position I would be too to let the players take the applause

Did Hoole touch the keeper then? Rugby tackles and deliberate handballs are not bookable offenses but accidentally running into the keeper are. Exactly. Connolly was rugby tackled to the floor two yards off the line following a corner, a definite penalty right in front of me 15 yards away and the ref and Lino missed it. Another total Wally of a ref!

Considering we were playing without a striker against a team who was chasing automatic promotion on the penultimate day, I thought we did ok - especially second half. What were people expecting I thought we deserved a point. Jed Ward had to make two saves in the whole game and their other two shots on target were goals. There keeper had to make three or four decent saves in the second half and in that half the only time Posh played through us was their second goal. As regards JCH, young Baggott showed us why he will not be our answer up front, the youngster had him in his pocket all game and JCH resulted to pushing him in the back two or three times to give us free kicks.
