Anyone got info on the ins and outs at Northampton? Obviously they are without Leonard this season - have they strengthened at all? Big game with a tough set of fixtures to follow.... Sam Sherring to MKD, Leonard to Birmingham, and McWilliams to Rotherham are the big ones outgoing. They've brought in Tom Eaves, Callum Morton, and James Wilson for strikers. Cameron McGeehan, Jack Baldwin, and Nik Tzanev. Only Eaves worries me from their business, the rest are L2 level players. Their standout player (other than Leonard) last season was Kieran Bowie who was on-loan from Fulham (think he scored their opener against us at Sixfields); he's as of yet not returned and would be one I'd be very happy with us signing if Fulham make him available for loan.

EDIT: He didn't score against us, but point still stands that's he's a decent player and will be a loss for them.

FWIW: Ellery Balcombe played for St Mirren in their UEFA Conference qualifying match v Valur in Iceland last night. And kept a clean sheet. Well done to him, not too many can say they’ve played in a European competition, albeit the qualifying rounds against a smaller team. UTG! What's he doing up there, is he still on loan?

Joined then on loan on May 24th for the duration of the season 24/25.

I hope Gasheads are not getting too carried away with the recent surge of recruitment. We shall certainly find out if the players are up to scratch for what will be a very challenging season! I just hope Rovers are not in the usual predicament oh having to play catch-up after the first dozen games or so. Many are saying a finish of in or around mid-table will be a satisfactory outcome. I take it the 2025-26 season will be when Rovers go all out for promotion.

Sure there will be a couple more ins and outs but preparation must be easier this way

Looks like we missed out on Jack Sparkes, was all set to sign on Weds then Peterborough have come in at the last minute and beat us to the signing Sounds like they needed him more than we did. I remember Rio Adebisi being mentioned here as being a left back we should sign from Crewe, he decided on Posh but then he picked up an injury that will keep him out for four months at least. So Sparkes is going to immediately fill his spot. Posh is a better prospect than us at the moment so I don’t expect it was a difficult decision for the player and his agent.

His agent Aaron Davies also used to play for Posh under Ferguson so that would have helped

As we've seen in pre season Mola has been brought in as a CB. Sparkes was definitely about to sign

Harrison Burrows, Posh's present LB has joined Sheffield Utd for a rumoured £3m transfer fee plus potentially another £3m from performance based incentives, meanwhile we sell two of L1's beat attacking players for just over £1m!

We are poor negotiators. 450k for the club captain and arguably best midfielder wasnt great business.

Have asked before what is the breakeven point where you decide has to be kept or sold? The suggestion here is we should have turned down that amount which could have meant he cost us £450,000 for 12 months.

Evo said he chose Huddersfield over Championship clubs so they clearly weren't the only club interested in signing him? Although my point was how do Posh get so much more for their players, it's not even double it's at least x6 more, are we known as a soft touch or are clubs more confident Posh players have had better coaching/fitness routines etc?

Because they are better players in terms of investment? One assumes any championship clubs were not prepared to pay more for him.
