Im interested to see who picks up all the players we released, very few go on to a better club on a free. Guess that shows that we mainly have players on the way down. strange that the expectation is that we pick up players better than ours on free transfers My predictions! Marquis - Colchester Greenslade - Aldershot Jones - Aldershot Finley - Tranmere Grant - Eastleigh Gordon - Yeovil Gibbons - Port Vale I think Grant and Gordon will be London-ish based - Barnet/Wimbledon/Crawley etc. Greenslade could go to Torquay. I suspect Wotton would be aware of him. Agree Jones to Aldershot. If fit Grant could also go there.

Transfer window opens 14th June. That means we will not be signing anyone before then, just in case some people get inpatient.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Marquis and Finley back in league one. Stockport? We might regret letting Jones and Greenslade go, good luck to them UTG Have any released youngsters in the past 15-20 years gone on to better things elsewhere? Most seem to find their natural level around the 6th tier

Most seem to find their natural level around the 6th tier It's an interesting one. I can't help but feel for young pros it's a case of being in the right place, at the right time that's a huge part of development. Players usually find themselves in the first team because of a lack of other options, add that in with being victims of circumstance. Ollie Clarke, Tom Lockyer & Ellis Harrison all benefitted from a season of Conference football at the club whereas Ryan Broom and to an extent Alfie Kilgour being a few years younger weren't afforded the privilege to grow with their club. With Jed Ward last season, would he have been given a chance with an experience goalkeeper at the club? Probably not. Cox not being ours, around a similar age and ability, it was an easy decision to invest time and minutes in one of our own players while relatively safe. We live in a world where the boring player who has 150+ appearances at the level you're playing is a better choice for a manager because football is all about short term results for managers.

I wonder if we are looking at the lad from Altrincham, Chris Conn-Clarke looked good when I’ve seen them play this season.

Matty James and Andreas Weimann both released by the sh** both 32 but would you guys take either of them? After all these 'gap' years, I don't really know anything about City's players. Outside of James and Weimann (and Andy King who's retiring) their list of players under 24 released:
Ben Acey Zac Bell McIntosh Boyd Marlee Francois Callum Hutton Duncan Idehen Dylan Kadji Harry Leeson Harvey Wiles-Richards
Anyone with insight if any could be useful additions?

Stephen Humphrys released by Wigan and he was on £8k per week. His goal record doesn't come close to JCH
